As a Human Resources Specialist your responsibilities will be:

Create a customer centric employee experience by providing employees and managers the proper infrastructure and support to efficiently carry out employee lifecycle events (40%)

  • Process employee events in human resource information system including new hires, terminations, promotions, change in supervisor, pay, etc. utilizing case management system.
  • Review and audit timecards in preparation for payroll.
  •  Respond to a wide range of HR-related inquiries from employees and managers, delivering support in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Analyze requests and, when unable to find immediate solutions, escalate complex issues to appropriate subject matter expert while ensuring timely resolution and acting as a liaison throughout the process.

Benefit and leave administration (25%)

  • Answer questions related to employee benefit plans. Advises employees on benefit eligibility, coverage, and other benefit matters.
  • Manage Leave of Absence (LOA), ensure the correct filing of leave documents, maintain leave records across HR platforms in compliance with local, state, and federal leave legislation while enhancing employee experience in the leave application process .

Workflow processes documentation, communication, and continuous improvement (25%)

  • Conduct periodical audits to ensure the data integrity across platforms (HRIS, and other vendor platforms).
  • Document workflow processes.
  • Guide, support, maintain & administer HR programs, policies & procedures such as employee recognition, tuition reimbursement and other employee related programs.
  • Prepare communication to stakeholders regarding processes, including enhancements and changes to processes.

Perform other duties as assigned (10%)

  • Assist HR subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, data maintenance and auditing of system changes.

A strong Human Resources Specialist will possess:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or accounting or equivalent work experience in a related field. 
  • 3 years of experience in benefits or human resources, with a focus on processing leaves and benefit inquiries
  • Knowledge of HRIS, and timekeeping system.
  • Intermediate to advance user of Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word.
  • Builds relationships and fosters connection at all levels of the organization. Has excellent interpersonal skills and clearly communicates, collaborates, and interacts with others in a concise manner. 
  • Exceptional prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Ensure that safety and health concerns are given primary consideration in all activities
  • Follows company guidelines and actively participates in all safety processes
  • Carry out job/area specific housekeeping duties and maintain a high standard of professionalism
  • Look for, report, and correct any near misses/unsafe conditions or behaviors as soon as possible
  • Identify needed changes and make recommendations - find a better way
