Charter School Associates is Hiring an Athletic Director - Riverview Academy of Math and Science Near Riverview, FL

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and supervise equipment inventories.
  2. Prepare a master sports calendar that includes conference and non-conference games/events.
  3. Coordinate athletic field use and maintain the use calendar.
  4. Coordinate practices and games and give final clearance for the use of the athletic field. 
  5. Work with coaching staff and Principal to schedule all athletic departure times and provide bus supervision with permission slips.
  6. Take care of travel arrangements and overnight accommodations for players or athletic teams (and coaches) competing in postseason competition.
  7. Seek and recommend suitable competition for all non-conference events/games.
  8. Hire all officials for 6-12 and non-conference contests.
  9. Secure game workers for athletic contests, chain crews, announcers, clock operators, score keepers, line judges, etc. and submit the list of contacted workers for that contest to the Principal prior to the event.
  10. Submit athletic expense request sheets for payment of officials and other workers to district office.
  11. Coordinate the collection of rosters for program information as needed.
  12. Act as a resource person and coordinator for all coaches.
  13. Assist in supervision at home athletic contests.
  14. Assist in the selection of coaches for the athletic program.
  15. Evaluate all athletic programs on an annual basis. Make recommendations for improvement to the building principal and area director.
  16. Complete an evaluation form and hold a conference with all coaches within three weeks after the conclusion of their sport season.
  17. Mediate the resolution of problems, issues, and concerns that may arise between coaches and athletic programs. 
  18. Provide a channel through which students and the community may express their concerns about an athletic program.
  19. Provide for in-service of coaching staff as needed.
  20. Disseminate FHSAA materials and enforce FHSAA rules and regulations, including player eligibility.
  21. Collect, file, and notify athletes and coaches regarding student eligibility as it pertains to the FHSAA physical cards and athletic code of conduct.
  22. Check the eligibility of all athletes.
  23. Maintain complete athletic records for all sports.
  24. Plan and arrange for pep rallies and award assemblies.
  25. Assume leadership in the development of the Varsity and Junior Varsity programs.
  26. Attend all home games, meets and contests and attend away games when possible, or appoint a representative to act in behalf of the Athletic Director.
  27. Keep on file a complete financial record of receipts and expenditures.
  28. Check that all athletes are properly covered by medical insurance.
  29. Collect and maintain on file a properly completed physical card for every student participating in athletics. 
  30. Distribute athletic training rules yearly to all athletic participants. Collect and maintain on file a signed copy. 
  31. Administer the school athletic code in a fair and consistent manner that is within the intent of the code. 
  32. Ensure adherence to all FHSAA and district policies, administrative rules, procedures, and codes relating to and participation in athletics.
  33. Coordinate the ordering of letter jackets, distribution of letters, chevrons, captain stars, etc.
  34. Order Post season awards for each program.
  35. Attend monthly athletic conference meetings.
  36. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor of Arts/Science with administrative and/or coaching experience required
  2. Florida certification in the subject area required
