Job Details
DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages contracts with security providers, facilities communication and cooperation between providers and school personnel, and ensures security personnel are appropriately trained and qualified to perform assigned compliance responsibilities.
  • Reviews incident reports, conducts investigations, and ensures proper documentation is completed in a timely manner.
  • Establishes cooperative relationships with local first responders including police, fire, ambulance, and other emergency units.
  • Ensures compliance with the school safety and security policies and works with the campus community regarding safety training, emergency drills and other activities.
  • Prepares reports for internal and external sources and ensures the school complies with the requirements.
  • Promotes a positive image of the school when handling customer/client problems by treating everyone with respect and resolving their concerns/complaints in a professional manner.
  • Manages campus parking and traffic procedures consistent with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Actively participates as a member of the school’s threat assessment team.
  • Develops and implements the various institutional forms used by campus safety and security.
  • Investigates and reports to administration all noted incidents, hazards and accidents in a timely manner.
  • Travels occasionally to fulfill position responsibilities.
  • Maintains awareness of best practices, emerging trends and new legislation relating to campus safety.
  • Assists with the development, implementation, monitoring, and revision of policies and procedures relating to campus safety.
  • Monitors security equipment, cameras, and ensure that units are functioning properly.
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the workplace.
  • Working hours will include some evenings, holidays and weekends depending on deadline requirements.
  • Completes duties and responsibilities in compliance with district and state standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • Uses interpersonal skills and makes sound judgements to decide how duties and responsibilities are completed between coworkers, the supervisory chain, faculty, staff, students, and parents.
  • Promotes positive morale and teamwork within the department and provides exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and community.
  • Serves on committees as appropriate and as appointed by supervisor.
  • Performs duties and responsibilities within a high-tech all-digital environment.
  • Aid in the design of appropriate, effective, efficient, and safe facilities.
  • Assist in the procurement of design and construction teams to build, repair and/or modernize school facilities.
  • Interpret data from a variety of sources to extract necessary data for preparation of plans and reports.
  • Listen, analyze problem and develop solutions.
  • Conduct research, prepare and present oral and/or written reports and represent the school.
  • Control quality of projects and schedules.
  • Work closely with administration, principal, site coordinators and staff to confirm that special facility needs related to education programs are completed and operational.
  • Assists by using student enrollment projections to establish participation eligibility in the State School Facilities Program.
  • Regularly perform required and appropriate inspections of school facilities safety conditions, including coordination with outside agencies and inspectors to identify preventive and remedial maintenance and safety needs.
  • Remains current with legislation and regulations affecting facilities and safety/health matters.
  • Coordinates deliveries and oversee vendors and contractors.
  • Manages school facilities and property.
  • Manages facility utilization, planning, design, and educational adequacy in alignment with district, state and federal policies and procedures.
  • Develops, implements, and executes short and long-term plans, consistent with available budgets, to complete facility preventative and remedial efforts.
  • Assures school facilities are in good repair and makes recommendations for maintenance and operational shifts.
  • Manages all construction activities.
  • Supervises and evaluates facilities, custodial and grounds personnel.
  • Attends board meetings and makes presentations, as needed.
  • Participates in the development of facilities construction work plan; assigns work activities and projects; monitors work progress; reviews and evaluates work products, methos and procedures.
  • Responsive to emergency situations.
  • Attend trainings as necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
Qualifications
  • Master’s in educational leadership preferred
  • 3-5 years classroom experience required.
  • Previous administration experience required.
  • Facilities management experience preferred.
Physical Abilities
  • Visual ability to read handwritten or typed documents and the display screen of various office equipment and machines.
  • Able to conduct verbal conversation in English.
  • Able to hear normal range verbal conversation (approximately 60 decibels)
  • Able to climb slopes, stairs, steps, ramps, and ladders.
  • Able to lift up to ten (10) pounds frequently and fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
  • Able to carry up to ten (10) pounds frequently and fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
  • Able to push and pull objects weighing up to thirty (30) pounds occasionally.
  • Able to exhibit full range of motion for shoulder external rotation and internal rotation.
  • Able to exhibit full range of motion for shoulder abduction and adduction.
  • Able to exhibit full range of motion for elbow flexion and extension.
  • Able to exhibit full range of motion for should extension and flexion.
  • Able to exhibit full range of motion for back lateral flexion.
  • Able to exhibit full range of motion for hip flexion and extension.
  • Able to exhibit full range of motion for knee flexion.
  • Able to operate office machines and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
  • Able to demonstrate manual dexterity necessary to operate necessary tools and/or computer keyboard at the required speed and accuracy.
Special Requirements
  • Must use safety equipment and devices designated for this position.
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid and appropriate State of Florida diver’s license; have an acceptable driving record and be insurable at standard rates by school’s insurance carrier and maintain such insurability during employment.
