Chartwell Hospitality (Corporate) is Hiring an Accounting Clerk / AP Specialist Near Kansas, MO

Job DescriptionThe Accounting Clerk is responsible for the full cycle accounting for the hotel. Duties include: preparing and maintaining accurate financial records by performing a variety of complex clerical and accounting tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of financial records, and preparing financial, statistical, and/or technical reports.
Essential Job FunctionsResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Monthly close procedures
  • Prepare daily deposits and cash handling
  • Responsible for all Account Payables activities
  • Record daily sales and post in the accounting system
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Review and dispute chargebacks
  • Support the back-office team as needed
  • Complete ad hoc requests
Necessary Skills And Attributes
  • Excellent verbal, comprehension, listening, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Well organized
  • Relevant Accounting experience and skills
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma
Qualifications And Skills
  • Hospitality experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of M3 is a plus but not necessary as training will be provided
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; bend; walk; use hands or finger; or feel objects, tools or controls; lift boxes (up to 15 pounds); talk and hear. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision to a computer screen.
