Exciting RN Residency Program Opportunity Schedule And Commitment
The typical schedule for the RN residency program involves Monday through Friday, 8-hour days totaling 40 hours per week. There may be occasional weekend shifts during holidays.
The preceptorship phase includes three 12-hour shifts per week, every other weekend at the hospital, aligning with the preceptor's schedule.
Certifications to be obtained include BLS, ACLS, CPI, EKG, NIH Stroke Scale, and Meditech Modules.
Full attendance throughout the program is mandatory.
Candidates are required to commit to a minimum of two years of full-time service at the hospital. Failure to meet this commitment may result in repayment of educational costs on a pro-rated basis.
Development And Training
The Professional Development Program in the first year of the residency includes mentorship for cultural integration and socialization into professional nursing.
Residents will participate in regular seminars focused on professional growth and development.
Completion of an evidence-based poster presentation and acquiring Charge Nurse and Preceptor skills are key components of the program.
Qualifications
Recent graduates from accredited nursing schools within the past 12 months are eligible to apply.
Applicants should have less than 6 months of RN experience, ideally less than 2 months in a hospital setting, and no more than 6 months in nursing home/home health environments.
A valid FL RN license prior to program commencement or appropriate compact licensure is necessary. For compact license holders, an active FL RN license is required within 90 days of employment.
Previous experience in the medical or service industry is beneficial but not obligatory.
Strong communication skills and self-motivation are essential. Candidates with a passion for patient care are preferred.

Additional Details
The program is open to graduates from non-accredited nursing schools and those with backgrounds in non-acute care settings.
Various non-acute care nursing backgrounds are welcome, particularly for non-specialty areas.
The residency tracks for different cohorts in WFL vary in length, ranging from 10 to 13 weeks.
Compensation
The salary range for different specialties is as follows:
Med/Surg & PCU: $29.81 per hour
ICU: $30.94 per hour
Specialty units: $32.79 per hour
Rates may be higher for candidates with previous LPN, CNA, EMT/Paramedic, or RT experience.
A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is offered with a 2-year commitment.
Relocation assistance for out-of-state candidates is provided on a case-by-case basis.
