Exciting Opportunity in Nursing Residency Program Schedule And Commitment
The typical schedule includes Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts totaling 40 hours per week, with the possibility of weekends during holidays.
During the preceptorship phase, participants will work three 12-hour shifts each week, with every other weekend at the hospital following the preceptor's schedule.
Attendance throughout the program is mandatory.
A minimum two-year full-time commitment to the hospital is required upon acceptance into the program, with potential financial obligations if this commitment is not met.
Certifications And Development
Certifications acquired include BLS, ACLS, CPI, EKG, NIH Stroke Scale, and Meditech Modules.
The Professional Development Program, lasting the remainder of the first year, involves mentor pairing, resident seminars, poster presentation, and gaining Charge Nurse and Preceptor skills.
Qualifications And Expectations
Recent nursing school graduates within the past 12 months are encouraged to apply.
Candidates should have no more than 6 months of RN experience, with specific preferences for hospital experience below 2 months and nursing home/home health experience not exceeding 6 months.
A current FL RN license or appropriate compact licensure is required before the program start.
Previous medical or service industry experience is advantageous, along with self-motivation and strong communication skills.
Preference is given to candidates who demonstrate care for patients.
Candidate Submission Questions
Applicants are required to answer specific questions related to their motivation for applying, specialty preference, unit/shift preference, reasons for choosing a nursing career, and their short and long-term professional goals.
Additional Notes
Opportunity for non-accredited nursing school candidates is available, and candidates from non-acute care settings are considered.
Residency openings are primarily in non-specialty areas.
Various track lengths are offered for different units within the program.
Salary And Incentives
Salary ranges from $29.81 to $32.79 per hour depending on the specialty, with potential increases for candidates with relevant LPN, CNA, EMT/Paramedic experience.
Sign-on bonus of $10k and relocation assistance for out-of-state candidates are available upon completion of the training and preceptorship.
