Exciting Nursing Residency Opportunity
ScheduleThe program typically runs Monday through Friday for 8 hours a day, totaling 40 hours a week. There is a possibility of including a weekend day during holiday periods. During the preceptorship segment, participants work three 12-hour shifts per week and every other weekend at the hospital, aligning with the preceptor's schedule.
CertificationsUpon completion, participants will have obtained certifications in BLS, ACLS, CPI, EKG, NIH Stroke Scale, and Meditech Modules. Attendance throughout the entire program is compulsory.
CommitmentCandidates must commit to a minimum of two (2) years of full-time dedication to the hospital. Failure to fulfill this commitment may result in a pro-rated repayment of educational costs.
Professional DevelopmentDuring the remainder of the 1st year, residents will be paired with trained mentors for integration into the nursing culture. They will attend frequent seminars following a core curriculum for professional development, present an evidence-based poster, and acquire Charge Nurse and Preceptor skills.
QualificationsIdeal candidates are recent graduates of accredited nursing schools within the last 12 months, with no more than 6 months of RN experience. A current FL RN license or appropriate compact licensure is required prior to the program start. Previous medical or service industry experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Strong communication skills and self-motivation are essential.
InclusivityThe program is open to candidates from non-accredited nursing schools and non-acute care settings, with a preference for those with no more than 6 months of RN experience. Non-specialty areas have a higher demand for residency candidates.
Track LengthsThe program lengths vary depending on specialization, with Med/Surg/Tele, PCU, Ortho/Neuro, Stepdown, and Inpatient Rehab units lasting 10 weeks, and ICU lasting 13 weeks.
CompensationUpon completion of training and preceptorship, participants will receive sign-on/relocation bonuses. The salary ranges from $29.81 for Med/Surg & PCU, $30.94 for ICU, to $32.79 for Specialty areas. Candidates with previous LPN, CNA, EMT/Paramedic, or RT experience may qualify for higher rates.
Additional InformationThere are currently 5 openings available, with a $10k sign-on bonus requiring a 2-year commitment. Relocation assistance is provided on a case-by-case basis for out-of-state candidates.
