Qualifications/Education/Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous janitorial experience
- Good communication skills
- Professional dress and demeanor
- Must possess an upbeat and outgoing personality
- Eager to help the guests with any need they have
Job Purpose:
The Houseman is first and foremost in charge of creating a fresh and inviting atmosphere for guests by making sure all of the areas of the hotel are clean and inviting. The Houseman plays a role in seeing to every guest’s needs and offering help to the guests and housekeeping department where needed. The Houseman will be trained to be cross-utilized in all areas of the hotel.
Essential Functions:
- Create a fresh and inviting atmosphere for guests by making sure all areas of the hotel are clean
- Maintain the common areas such as lobby, hallways, activity areas, fitness center, Courtyard, parking lot, and laundry rooms. Other areas as assigned
- Responsible for the inventory and stocking of each housekeeping utility closet on each floor.
- May be asked to clean guest rooms to assist the Housekeeping team
- Assists with set-ups for any activity in the hotel (including private and public events)
- Assist with banquets, when assigned. This includes set up, tear down, and possible help during the event
- Maintain a professional, happy demeanor
- As guest pass in the common areas, ask how the stay is or if they can offer help in any way
- Assist guests with luggage handling
- Any other assigned duties as required

- Interior setting, air-conditioned and brightly lit.
- Some luggage handling
