Job Summary

Supports the company-wide Finance and Accounting function under the guidance of the Senior Corporate Accounting Manager for accounting, audit, tax, treasury, internal controls, and government compliance. Main job focus will be allocated across a few areas of responsibility:

1. Oberon subsidiary - responsible for the month end close and general financial support for this subsidiary of the Company working with the Senior Corporate Accounting Manager.
2. Simi Valley Operations support - analyzing cost of sales drivers working in conjunction with the Cost Accounting Supervisor. This a longer-term support role that will be transitioned into.
3. Support International subsidiary and representative office compliance and monthly accounting working with the Corporate Controller.
4. Support Accounts Payable lead by cross training on Sales Tax return preparation and other compliance reporting. Longer term cross functional support role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for supporting the finance and accounting functions for the Oberon division of CPI:
   1. works with the Oberon accountant to ensure timely and accurate month end close.
   2. Works with Corporate accounting to post subsidiary activity into the consolidated set of books
   3. Prepares balance sheet account analysis for the Oberon subsidiary.
   4. Assist the Oberon Operations Manager with the with the following activities: reconciliation, cost, pricing, and GM analysis, asset tracking (tooling and molds)
   5. Supports Oberon President with financial analysis on an as needed basis.
2. Responsible for financial planning and analysis, including the completion of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), including reporting on AOP to Actual expenditure, for the Oberon subsidiary
3. Assist in preparation of monthly financial posting of foreign subsidiary activity into the consolidated set of books.
4. Support Corporate accounting team during annual audit with the Company’s external auditors
5. Support Corporate accounting team in the completion of annual federal and state income tax returns, as well as quarterly income estimates and tax payments.
6. Back up Corporate AP supervisor as needed and assist in preparation of Sales Tax returns and other compliance projects as needed.
7. After orientation phase, responsible for all operations accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cost & inventory accounting.
8. Assist with administering accounting practices and controls and compliance reporting for new and existing foreign offices and legal entities.
9. Work with Cost Accounting associate to understand the cost of sales drivers and variances for the Simi Valley manufacturing plant.

Pay Range $95,000 - $110,000 DOE 

Qualifications

Technical Competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required, CPA certification a plus.
• Five plus (5) years of progressive work experience in accounting required.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and ERP experience required.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with federal and state tax laws.
• International subsidiary experience a plus.
• Experience with month end close processes from start to finish.
• Experience in successful, high-growth companies; manufacturing experience preferred.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Works on computer majority of the day.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all vendors and customers.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. to move file boxes, etc. as needed.
• Some travel (domestic and international) may be required both by automobile and airplane.
