Description: Senior Chemical Engineer

About the opportunity:

We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Chemical Engineer to help us achieve our company mission. This person will be part of the Process team which is responsible for developing process designs for oil & gas refineries among other clients - both at a high conceptual level and detailed design. C&I is an employee-owned, full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients. Primarily, C&I serves the industries of oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing process designs for refinery and chemical plants, both at a high conceptual level and detailed design
• Performs a variety of computer-based modeling, design, engineering, and planning tasks on complex projects
• The Senior Chemical Engineer modifies and creates flow sheet simulations to establish the heat material balances
• Receives direction from Project Manager or Project Engineer.
• Develops engineering and design techniques, procedures, and criteria to solve unique and complex engineering problems.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering from a four-year ABET-accredited engineering program and a minimum of six (6) years of related work
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally to o?ces, vendor shops, and project sites. Travel may be up to 10%
• Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.
• Must be able to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any required background checks.
• Performs work in a safe manner in accordance with C&I and client requirements.
• Valid Driver’s License

Qualifications that set you apart:

• Professional Engineer License
• Prior work experience in refineries, chemical plants, food or beverage plants, food science, or quality control
• Construction experience in processing plants
• Familiarity with food processing, CIP, and packaging
