About the job position

The Chrome Operator is responsible for all processes associated with the chrome plating process including chemical bath maintenance. Work may include, but is not limited to, racking, masking, and washing of parts.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate chrome plating tanks.
  • Perform routine established testing to insure proper operation of the solutions.
  • Will Prepare and Process parts through the Chrome tank lines.
  • Roll Lapping of product, both pre and post Chrome process
  • Mask, blast and rack aerospace parts
  • Inspection of processed parts
  • Responsible for basic data entry functions in computer systems.
  • Sign off paperwork as required
  • Keep area clean and organized
  • Use tooling and fixtures, when applicable
  • Understand advance part handling procedures
  • Be familiar with Quality Assurance requirements & rework procedures
  • Be able to read engineering/blueprint drawings and notations
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to drive positive change in productivity, delivery, and service. Be involved in Kaizen events as needed either as a participant or supporter
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged
  • Be able to exercise health and safety processes and procedures
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary

Education/Qualifications

  • High School Degree and / or an equivalent of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
  • Strong ability to read, write and understand and perform basic mathematical functions to include decimals, fractions, metrics, conversions, as well as working knowledge of basic geometry and trigonometry.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Required to have basic computer skills and the ability to operate in a Windows and format.
  • Effective oral communication skills to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • The ability to establish and maintain a professional and effective working relationship with employees at all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks and projects to their completion with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and with multiple tasks.
  • Regular and on-time attendance is required.
  • Must be a least 18 years of age.

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to alternate standing and sitting for 8 / 12 hours
  • Ability to see or correct to 20/20
  • Ability to hear
  • Ability to distinguish color (pass a colorblind test)
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in written form
  • Ability to stoop and bend.
