Chemtrade is Hiring an Operations Manager I - US Near East St Louis, IL

Job DescriptionScope of the PositionResponsible for all Operations and Maintenance activities at the plant and keeping the plant in a safe and reliable operating condition. The responsibilities include management of all site operations, maintenance personnel, contract maintenance personnel, day to day production activities, the Preventive Maintenances program, the Mechanical Integrity Program, and the CAPEX program. Ensuring all activities are done in a safe, environmentally sound, fiscally prudent manner, in keeping up with the Responsible Care ethic and Chemtrade's culture and values.
Position: Operations Manager
Shift: Monday - Friday
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and control Operations activities within the plant - 25%
  • Planning and control of budgets for both Maintenance and Operations - 20%
  • Plan, schedule and organize plant outages.5%
  • Organize and control maintenance and operations human resources. Plan, organize, and control production, staffing, and maintenance activities - 15%
  • Organize and lead efforts to investigate, identify, and implement solutions related to process upsets, customer quality issues, process improvements, process and human productivity, and any other variances within the Scope of Position - 10%
  • Lead the establishment of Responsible Care ethics within the maintenance organization and, as appropriate, within the whole plant - 5%
  • Control compliance of all activities within Scope of Position as relates to plant safety standards and practices - 5%
  • Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager - 5%
  • Optimize resource allocation for maintaining the plant and improve process uptime - 5%
  • On-call rotation for maintenance and operations along with the Plant Manager- 5%
EducationWhat You Need To Be Successful
  • Associate degree in engineering or related field.
Experience
  • At least 10 years working experience in chemical plant environment, with extensive knowledge of maintenance procedures with focus in preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • At least 5 years supervisory experience.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision.
  • Employee must be physically capable of spending long hours outdoors and occasionally work in protected clothing and equipment.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders (including vertical).
  • Must be “fit for duty”.
Work Environment
Must Be Able To Perform Under The Following Conditions
  • Work in awkward or confining workspaces.
  • Work in elevated places.
  • Work in outdoor environment.
  • Work in noisy environment.
  • Work in areas that are dusty and have some odor from chemicals and etc.
  • Safety is a job requirement.
  • Able to work in Adverse Weather Conditions.
  • Must be capable of spending long hours outdoors on your feet and occasionally work in protective clothing and equipment such as: rain suits, face shields, hoods, and etc.
