Driving resort bus / shuttle for resort guests between Fairbanks and Chena Hot Springs Resort (about 60 miles one-way). There are late or early hour runs between 11 : 00pm - 5 : 00am and runs on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, so the capability of flexible working hours is necessary.
The position pays hourly and is open to CDL license holders only at this time. At times your day will be broken up with downtime between runs.
This job has high season and low season. During the low season you will be assigned to other tasks that suit your individual skills.
These jobs will be assigned once you arrive at Chena and your skills can be assessed. High season can be very stressful when the roads / weather is bad.
If you have never driven on poor condition roads this may not be the job for you. There are a wide variety of hazards on the road but if you are a good professional driver that will not be of any concern.
You must be able to load luggage on to the bus and lift up to 70# repeatedly and up to 100 times a day.
During the winter time the driving schedule is extremally busy. Holidays are our busiest therefore no holidays are given off.
The resort has a variety of vehicles including 44 passenger busses, 21 passenger vans, and 14 passenger vans. In some cases you will be driving a smaller van.
Single / Double occupancy rooms at no cost, Meals are also included. Wi-Fi available for a fee. The following are some of the driver rules and expectations.

Including but not limited to; calling the guest, going to the front desk or common area and calling their name, calling the phone number, texting the phone number, any other means to get the guests attention.
Do a vehicle check (tires etc.) and make sure the inside of your van is clean. Check FareHarbor and group chat. When guests get in, please make sure to tell them to fasten their seatbelts.
Before you leave, make a roll call and check in guests in FareHarbor.
If you have to move because there is another vehicle behind you, please do so but pull over on the side and check them in.
If you do this for every stop, this will be automatic for you and chances of you leaving guests behind would be minimal.
Always check FareHarbor to make sure you have checked in all the passengers in your manifest.
Drive 45MPH (less if the roads are bad).
