Afghan Community Case Manager

Afghan Community Case Manager will provide employment and social adjustment services to Afghan Community members in partnership with local refugee resettlement agencies, employment entities and social service partners.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Afghan Community Case Manager: Pay commensurate with experience.
  • Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided.

Afghan Community Case Manager Responsibilities Include: 

  • Responsible for the direct management of individual refugee cases and timely delivery of core employment and social adjustment services, and consistent documentation of services to each client assignment.
  • Provide employment services and social adjustment services including but not limited to the development of family self-sufficiency plans, employability plans, job orientation, employability assessments and job placement and vocational program support as well as cultural orientation and skills training.
  • Assist in securing employment and vocational opportunities in partnership with peer supports specialists and stakeholder engagement liaison. 
  • Ability to conduct a home visit and, when necessary support client transportation needs and accompany clients to assist in their access to different employment and social adjustment services.
  • Collaborate with local employers, employment programs, vocational programs, English language programs, financial wellness programs and social services offices providers to ensure required services deliveries to Afghan community members.
  • Ensures language and cultural competency in support of program. 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Afghan Community Case Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, counseling, or related fields preferred.
  • No less than 2 years of professional experience providing case management services, including refugee resettlement, immigrant support, and or other social service operations. 
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual or Multilingual: (Pashto and/or Dari) communication skills are required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via oral and written means.
  • Ability to present a positive demeanor to individuals, their families, staff, supportive services personnel, and the general public.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via oral and written means.
  • Ability to travel between various local working locations
  • Ability to remain calm during difficult circumstances and emergencies.
  • Able to effectively manage significant documentation.
  • Advanced knowledge of case management services, employment services and social adjustment services. 
  • Proficient in utilizing Outlook, Word and Excel; PowerPoint, Access, Visio.
  • Must pass pre-employment requirements of Cherokee Federal.
