Cherokee Federal is Hiring a Facilities Space Planner Near San Antonio, TX

Facilities Space Planner

Provide professional knowledge to develop and maintain the space management and computer-aided facility management/integrated workplace management system (CAFM/IWMS) allocations as well as other comprehensive planning studies used for installation planning, and installation investment planning decisions. Strong analytical skills, creativity, and knowledge of spatial design concepts.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Facilities Space Planner: $90,000 to $100,000. Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Facilities Space Planner Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in maintaining space planning COAs records, space allocation surveys, data entry, tracking and reporting using required NexGen IT Systems.
  • Develop and manage Customer Authorization (CA); create, update, and coordinate Facility Board approval, prioritize Facility Space Allocation Surveys (FSAS), verify real property records per group validation, identify space optimization opportunities and develop planning actions
  • Provide facility space data for development of DD1391; calculate CA and develop Facility Space Optimization Plan (FSOP).
  • Utilize NEXGEN IT (Tririga) reports and process actions required or needed to maintain and update installation facility records, including correction of discrepancies discovered during records review and inspections, and to document space planning COAs.
  • Conduct FSOP surveys- interviews with multiple stakeholders
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to advise and assist in the establishment of COAs.
  • Establish space processes to support requirements while addressing workplace issues.
  • Advise stakeholders on the current uses of existing square footage.
  • Develop FSOP to advise leadership regarding facility use optimization actions.
  • Track and update space use and changes
  • Maintain and update folders for facilities
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Development of work orders and project requirement
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Facilities Space Planner Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • BS/BA or 5-7 years equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a DoD office environment and able to multitask
  • Experience/knowledge in directing or coordinating one or more administrative services of an organization required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with process improvement required
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and SharePoint required
  • Knowledge/experience creating and using pivot tables required
  • Basic knowledge of GIS data report creation required
  • Experience with CAD and CAFM/IWMS process required
  • Experience with schematic block drawings/preliminary CAD Program drawings required
  • Experience with making space planning recommendations to stakeholders required
  • Experience with coordination of building system, construction, standardization, and space planning principles required
  • Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and federal background check.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
