Lab Tech III Newborn Screening Quality Assurance Program

***This position requires an active NACI clearance or the ability to obtain one.***

The Lab Tech will contribute to the creation and distribution of certified laboratory dried blood spot materials in support of regulatory compliance and accreditation for testing: quality control materials and proficiency testing materials.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Lab Tech III Newborn Screening Quality Assurance Program: Pay commensurate with experience.

Lab Tech III Newborn Screening Quality Assurance Program 

Responsibilities Include: 

• Assist with development and validation of new methods 
• Use a variety of instruments and laboratory equipment to perform analyses
• Analyze and record testing results and summarize findings
• Interpret data in proper context and communicate results
• Maintenance of records and creation of documentation for quality compliance
• Work independently and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree and 3 yrs. of relevant experience
• Prior experience working in a CLIA, ISO, GLP or cGMP environment
• Previous experience supporting CDC or equivalent federal agency preferred

Lab Tech III Newborn Screening Quality Assurance Program

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities requested:

• Knowledge of clinical assays, including enzyme immunoassays, enzymatic assays, protein assays, and other biochemical methods
• Knowledge and understanding of all laboratory safety and reporting requirements 
• Skill in using laboratory equipment including single and multi-channel pipettes, analytical balances, microwell plate readers, incubators, and clinical analyzers
• Skill in maintaining accurate and detailed records of analyses performed
• Ability to plan and manage time and effort to ensure high quality materials are produced
• Ability to interpret data in proper context and communicate results
• Experience using data reduction software, basic statistics, and quality control principles 
• Experience working within a quality management system with standard operating procedures and document control
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
