Project Scheduler

Provide support to project managers in developing project plans and schedules, Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure alignment and accuracy of schedules, Monitor project milestones and deliverables and provide regular status updates to stakeholders, Communicate scheduling updates and changes to all relevant parties in a timely manner, Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of project tasks and deliverables, Conduct regular schedule reviews and provide recommendations for adjustments as needed, Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of project schedules

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Project Scheduler: Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Project Scheduler Responsibilities Include: 

  • Creates and maintains scheduled of project milestones and completion dates for a new information technology system for the IRS.
  • Provide support and track changes to the input of citizen tax data, tax filings, tax payments, tax filing reviews, tax payment audits, long-term record keeping, citizen interface with the IRS to track progress on tax returns, IRS file notes, and IRS employee training on the new system.
  • Maintains Cost and Milestones Schedule Plans.
  • Communicates with customers, managers, and functional leads on site as required.
  • Maintenances Planning/forecasting – Continually monitor projections to mitigate impacts.
  • Controls cost and schedule parameters for each assigned project.
  • Works resources consistently and expeditiously without impeding quality or safety.
  • Aligns workload priorities to inventory allowances with customer demand.
  • Monitors maintenance progress to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Hosts kick-off meetings with the stakeholders and the assembled team.
  • Facilitates brainstorming / what-if sessions to enhance scheduled events.
  • Guides team through project execution, maintain scope and schedule, and manage expectations.
  • Closes out and manages final project approval with the stakeholder.
  • Prepares Estimated Travel Requirements.
  • Plans, coordinates, and tracks travel events with approvals, purchasing, and voucher activities IAW JTR (Joint Travel Regulation).
  • Assists program leadership with status reports, white papers, weekly activity report, and other ad hoc requirements as necessary.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Project Scheduler Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

  • Associate's degree in production Control or similar skill and 4 years of experience. Federal government contracting experience required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate a large volume of diverse work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability use to best judgement.
  • Thorough working knowledge of project scheduling.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of IRS mission and environment.
  • Working knowledge of DoD Networks.
  • Working knowledge of developing briefing materials, administrative, and logistic support.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) enabling precise conveyance of information across all customer sections and proper enunciation of the English language.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking/problem solving skills.
  • Familiarity in researching and writing white papers, compliance reports, and assessment reports in support activities for defining policy.
  • Ability to be flexible, dependable, and multi-task with evolving priorities.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
