Cherokee Federal is Hiring a Structural Engineer Near Honolulu, HI
Compensation & Benefits:
- Estimated Starting Salary Range for Structural Engineer: Pay commensurate with experience.
- Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
- Perform structural analysis and design of building vertical and lateral force resisting systems
- Design retaining structures, utility structures, or waterfront structures (piers, wharves, etc.)
- Utilize DoD UFC or industry codes and standards, including the International Building Code (IBC) and ASCE 7 Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures
- Design structural elements using common building materials such as concrete, steel, and masonry
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Identify and resolve structural issues during the design and construction phases.
- Implement and enforce safety measures and conduct risk assessments.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Engineering college curriculum.
- Minimum four (4)-year degree with at least six (6) years of Design Management and/or Design experience .
- U.S. Professional Engineering Registration (P.E.) in the relevant discipline (i.e. mechanical design technical support requires a mechanical engineering license) is highly desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge of broad-based Engineering principles and expertise in the relevant discipline
- Sound understanding of technical concepts, principles, and practices applicable to multi-disciplined engineering project design
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Demonstrated experience in preparing correspondence, written reports, and briefing management personnel
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), AutoCAD, and/or Revit; ability to adapt to new software such as eCMS, MS Teams, and Zoom
- United States citizenship required
- Security clearance - SECRET (TIER 3) preferred or must be able to obtain interim security clearance prior to onboarding
- Provide satisfactory proof of U.S. citizenship (U.S. or naturalized)
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
