JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of a licensed staff member, perform clerical support such as typing, stapling, filing, duplicating, faxing, laminating, collating, counting, inventorying and ordering of supplies, answering telephones, greeting visitors, entering data into computers, and simple bookkeeping. Assist with preparation of student learning materials and support coordinators in the assigned program. May monitor, manage, and assist students during classroom activities and student testing, recess, lunch, detention, in-house suspension, and before or after school.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out. 1.

Perform basic clerical work such as data entry/typing, stapling, filing, duplicating, laminating, mail distribution, taking inventory, ordering office supplies, answering phones, taking messages, office reception, and light bookkeeping. Schedule meetings as requested.

2.

Support teachers and instructional para-educators with student testing and preparation of learning materials.

3.

May monitor, manage, and assist students during classroom activities and student testing, recess, lunch, detention, in-house suspension, and before or after school.

4.

Provide support to teachers and resource center technicians as needed.
Daily 5%
5.

Draft and distribute reports and/or formal communication to staff and/or parents.

Help maintain program files, inventory, calendars, equipment maintenance, and repair schedules. May include budget tracking. [Weekly, 5%]

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired.
  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
  • High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
  • No professional work experience required
  • Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Basic word processing and spreadsheet skills.
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal relations skills.
  • Advanced organizational skills.
  • Ability to work alone and with others.
  • Ability to perform data entry on a daily basis.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: The physical demands, mental functions, cognitive capacities, and work environment factors required to perform a position's essential functions.   • Experience working in the public sector

  • Associate's degree.
  • Administrative assistant/clerical, student supervision in an educational setting, or licensed teaching experience.
  • Experience working in a school district or educational setting.
  • Experience working with school age children.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications.
