Chesterton Academy of Fort Worth is Hiring a Teacher Near Fort Worth, TX

Chesterton Academy of Fort Worth, a classical high school in the Catholic tradition, seeks talented and dynamic part-time Music/Choral teacher to join our team starting in the 2024-25 academic year, with the opportunity to transition to a full-time contract for the following academic year (2025-2026).
"Part-time" for this position means three hours of classroom instruction per week for 37 weeks, plus directing 4 extra-curricular student performances: 1 Mass in the Fall; 1 concert during Advent; and 1 concert in the Spring, which is repeated once at the annual Angelus Dinner. This part-time contract will run from August 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.
A college degree is required: bachelor's or master's degree in Choral Music or other music-related disciplines is preferred, with previous experience teaching the same. Specifically, the candidate must be well versed in Gregorian Chant and the Solfege system and demonstrate his or her ability to teach it to complete beginners.
Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate knowledge of and ability to teach polyphonic choral singing. The candidate will be tasked, in addition to regular Music/Choir classes in the curriculum, with training the students to chant/sing at Mass and the other three extra-curricular events/concerts named above.
Two to five years of teaching experience is preferred, as well as
experience in and passion for Catholic classical education.
The candidate must be a practicing Catholic and willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills, and possess a track record of contributing to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise.
In addition to their teaching responsibilities, faculty at the Chesterton
Academy of Fort Worth participate in the House system, which is designed to promote character and virtue, and to help students grow in holiness.
Full-time faculty members are required to attend daily Mass with the entire student body, and to assist in leading spiritual retreats, field days and other school activities; part-time faculty are invited to do the same, as their schedule permits, but not required.
Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, and two to three references to careers@chestertonacademyfw.org.
