Chevron is accepting online applications for the Trading Operations Specialist position through September 16th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.Manages the transport, storage, and blending of commodities across Upstream, Midstream and Downstream. Prepares transportation nominations, system balancing of physical assets and optimization of logistics. Executes blending operations. Oversees the lifecycle of trade once it has been executed including credit, risk, and inventories.
Supports major customers/clients and leads projects of medium scope and complexity under limited supervision. Detailed knowledge of most aspects of the work function.
Responsible for transport, storage, and blending for respective commodities across Upstream, Midstream and Downstream. Tasks include transportation nominations, system balancing and optimization, blending, documentation, credit, risk and inventory management.
Operations Schedulers are responsible for optimizing flow by coordinating pipeline, marine and or terminal logistics for commodity movement. You will work closely with trading teams and third-party customers to approve nominations for movement, produce shipping schedules and manage inventory. On-call availability for evening, weekend and holiday scheduling is required.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Lead day-to-day scheduling and operations for trading teams, including activities such as blending, quality control, loss prevention and forecasting analysis
- Maintains blending schedules. Performs blending analysis using blending software.
- Identifies opportunities to increase blended product quality specifications and value, and alerts and coordinates potential alternate actions.
- Manage nominations for pipeline, marine, rail and/or truck carriers; monitors and executes commodity movement
- Partner with traders to manage physical inventory positions and recommend trade activity based on interactions with third parties
- Monitor pipeline/terminal operations to optimize schedules
- Engage with internal and external industry experts and maintain strong relationships and lines of communication
- Collaborate on and communicate operational costs, optimization initiatives and best practice learnings
- Assists commercial groups in evaluating the economics and viability of potential business opportunities by presenting alternative valuation viewpoints and incorporating logistical/operational factors and/or market blending intelligence.
- Marine cargo scheduling experience
- Demonstrated products blending experience
- Experience in energy, manufacturing, transportation, supply chain and/or finance
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on Operational Excellence and delivering results
- Demonstrated organizing and planning skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data to draw valid conclusions, identify root causes and solve problems
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, ability to communicate at various levels within the organization
- Demonstrated influencing skills, the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team
- Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook. A background in SAP/ TSW or Right Angle would be a plus
