Leadership
- Function as a mentor and coach.
- Assist with preparation of unit schedules, including mandatory education scheduling.
- Establish daily work plans for the team.
- Guide peer interviewing process in the selection of unit staff.
- Provide input and feedback to the nurse manager in regards to team performance management.
- Conduct on the job training and education.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care according to standards.
- Maintain ongoing compliance with regulatory standards through rounding.
- Assist in development and achievement of departmental budgets and goals.
- Assist with payroll activities such as monitoring timekeeping.
- Manage material and supply usage.
- Maintain thorough knowledge and competence in areas of management and clinical practice.
- Participate in educational programs to enhance clinical/management experience.
- Serve as a clinical resource in an area of specialty.
- Role model clinical and professional excellence.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required upon hire
- A bachelor’s degree in nursing
- At least three years of supervisory experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to delegate, lead teams, think critically, resolve conflict, and manage time/workloads.
