Preferred Qualifications:

• Must have a valid Professional Educator License from Illinois State Board of Education and license must be registered in Region 07

• Must have a bilingual endorsement (Spanish)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Transitional Bilingual Educator License

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ability to structure a classroom to maximize student learning

• Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English and in native language of students in the Core Curriculum Content Standards, Illinois Learning Standards, and Spanish Language Arts Standards. Instruction must be consistent and coordinated with the district’s instructional program so that students meet and exceed learning targets and the requirements outlined in the state and federal law.

• Must possess effective behavior and classroom management skills

• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction

• Must possess effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders

• Administer grade level curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives

• Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student learning

• Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning

• Organize and maintain a system of accurate and complete record keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the administrator
