Job Title: General Manager/Operations Director

Job Summary: The General Manager (Operations Director) at Chick-fil-A is responsible for directing the daily operations of a quick service restaurant. This includes ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operations, including production, preparation, customer relations, restaurant maintenance and repair, inventory management, team management, recruiting, financial accountability, and ensuring the highest quality products and services are delivered to our customers. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Team Management and Development: 

  • Develop and implement a training plan for Team Members to meet Pathway standards. 
  • Conduct Team Member performance reviews and create performance management plans. 
  • Create role clarity and clear communication amongst the team. 
  • Develop processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all employment laws. 
  • Lead, motivate, and build relationships with team members through cultivating a culture of care and focus on development and training. 

Operations and Business Management: 

  • Assess and analyze the current state of the Restaurant business in terms of people, quality and customer service, sales and brand growth, and financial return. Develop a 30/60/90-day business plan. 
  • Analyze Customer Engagement Monitor survey results and create strategies for enhancing survey results, including coaching, and solving for opportunities. 
  • Implement and oversee inventory and ordering processes, and train Team Members on the relevant processes. 
  • Identify and solve bottlenecks in the business, including innovating ways to maximize throughput. 
  • Analyze data, including End of Month package, to make optimal business decisions for maximizing the Restaurant’s financial return. 
  • Ensure leadership coverage with the scheduler and participate in Team Meetings and Outings. 
  • Conduct one-on-ones with the leadership development team. 
  • Send daily emails of Customer Experience Monitor reviews and reports reflecting scores and Unit Number Reports. 

Leadership and Strategy: 

  • Develop and cultivate a team of leaders capable of executing the business vision. 
  • Manage daily operations and processes while holding the team accountable for operational excellence. 
  • Model all core values to positively impact the team and culture. 
  • Continuously evaluate business operations and streamline systems/processes to drive efficiency, build sustainable sales, and profit growth. 
  • Recruit, develop, and grow the Leadership Team. 
  • Establish, monitor, and evolve store goals with a focus on key metrics. 
  • Provide strategic communication across the organization. 
  • Meet regularly with the Operator and Leadership Team for training/personal development and to execute the overall vision. 
  • Hold the team of 115 accountable to Chick-fil-A standards alongside other Directors. 

Qualifications: 

  • At least 3 years of previous management experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced, guest-focused environment (previous Chick-fil-A experience preferred). 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. 
  • Keen business judgment and sound decision-making skills. 
  • Experience working with and leading teams. 
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to provide clear and consistent feedback. 
  • Ability to manage conflict in a respectful and timely manner. 
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Ability to adapt work schedule to meet the demands of the business (weekend availability). 
  • Associate's degree preferred. 
  • Leadership, management, and organizational skills. 
  • Financial management skills. 
  • Dedication to exceptional customer service. 
  • Demonstrates humility and a servant leadership mentality. 
  • Effective communication skills; able to build rapport within and outside the organization. 
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
