The Kitchen Director at Chick-fil-A at Frederick North delivers operational excellence, fosters personal growth of its Team Members, and delivers quality customer experiences. The Kitchen Director reports directly to the Restaurant Owner/Operator and develops all Managers and mid-level leaders on the heart of house team. The Kitchen Director sets the standard for operational excellence and leads by example.

Located an hour north of Washington DC in Frederick, Maryland. Chick-fil-A Frederick North is owned and operated by Dwight Sones. Dwight has served as the Owner/Operator of this restaurant since its grand opening in October, 2017. Prior to his six years as an Owner/Operator with Chick-fil-A, Dwight was blessed to serve our Nation as an officer and pilot in the United States Air Force. Of his 26 years of service, 17 were spent in the flying community as an Evaluator, Instructor, Trainer, or Trainee. Dwight has been able to transition his experience and leadership serving our country to propel Chick-fil-A Frederick North into a chainwide leader in operational excellence. Chick-fil-A Frederick North prides itself on having a culture and work environment that’s second to none in the quick service restaurant industry.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Director to join our team at Chick-fil-A. This “hands-on” management opportunity is designed to give you a career in the most highly-esteemed restaurant chain in the nation. This opportunity provides a clear roadmap for your professional growth to get you into a senior leadership role specifically suited to match your strengths as you prepare to operate your own business or franchise.

  • Delivers in top 1% of Drive-Thru Experience chain-wide (U.S, Canada, Puerto Rico) 
  • Double digit growth forecasted for 2024
  • Leadership structure based on Chick-fil-A’s Five Critical Success Factors 
  • Multi restaurant opportunities estimated in the immediate area 
  • 2 operator selects developed from Directors to current position as Chick-fil-A Owner/Operators

Your Impact

  • Serve as a liaison to the Operator to develop the tools necessary for their long-term success
  • Ability to act on behalf of and in the best interest of the Operator
  • Delivering operational excellence, working in all aspects of the restaurant to gain critical experience and knowledge of how to effectively operate a multi-million dollar business
  • Building high performance teams, identifying and coaching up-and-coming leaders.
  • Manage a team of 50 , creating an inspiring vision, coaching and holding people accountable to high standards
  • Increasing profitability through implementing procedures to reduce costs, increase productivity, & promoting sales
  • Providing the highest quality guest experience through all sales channels
  • Maintaining a work environment that ensures and promotes food & team safety

Background Profile

  • Minimum 1 year Chick-fil-A experience
  • Experience working in a Chick-fil-A restaurant is required
  • Experience within the restaurant or quick service food industry 
  • Experiences in the Back of House operations of a restaurant 
  • 40-45 hours per week availability, evening and Saturdays are included 
  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certified (preferred) 
  • Ensure food safety procedures are followed
  • Review EcoSure and QIV reports and make necessary modifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for Chick-fil-A and an understanding of Corporate purpose, mission, values 

Transparency

  • This is truly a hands-on position with up to 75% of each Director's time spent working and directing restaurant operations.
  • Operational Excellence and remarkable guest service is the driving force behind all business decisions for Dwight and his Director Team. 
  • Our expectation would be a two year time commitment to this role.
