JOB SUMMARY :
Fire Alarm Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting, periodic maintenance, installation, and monitoring of fire alarm systems with minimal to no supervision.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES :

  • Service and maintain all types of fire alarm systems including conventional, addressable, and voice evacuation systems.
  • Install and modify fire alarm systems including programming.
  • Record findings and report deficiencies of fire alarm systems to CFD and Customers.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers as well as offsite monitoring companies in a professional manner.
  • Proper and safe use and operation of tools required.
  • Plan, coordinate, and complete jobs in a timely manner.
  • Required to be in an on-call status as required by location to handle emergency service requests.
  • Ensure company provided vehicle is clean and well maintained as required by company policies.
  • Ensure that all assigned tools are accounted for and maintained.
  • Understand and follow CFD’s Safety program, policies and procedures.
  • Train assistants in all applicable aspects of fire protection.
  • Ensure company provided vehicle is clean and well maintained in accordance with company policies.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education, Training, Certifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • NICET and/or state required certification required based on location, preferred but not required.
  • Low Voltage License preferred but not required.
  • Manufacturer training certifications preferred but not required.

Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems required. 5 years’ experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work alone and as part of a team.
