Child Care of the Berkshires is looking for a motivated professional who loves to learn, create, organize, and problem solve to join our team as an Executive Assistant/Communication Specialist.
Program DescriptionThe Administrative Office of Child Care of the Berkshires provides a variety of support services to the agency as a whole, including human resources, finance and accounting services, fundraising and communications, strategizing on essential day-to-day business operations, leading core initiatives, and establishing organization-wide policies and procedures in order to support the childcare and family support services of the agency.
Responsible to : President/CEO, Human Resources Director, and Finance Director
Basic FunctionWe are seeking an Executive Assistant / Communication Specialist to perform a variety of specialized administrative and office support functions. This position assists with the general work flow; creates and maintains specialized reports, records and files. Interacts with CCB personnel, Board of Directors, vendors, consumers and the public on a variety of matters and performs related duties as assigned.
In addition, as the Communication Specialist, you will develop and implement external communications, including website updates, newsletters, branding materials, and social media. In this newly created role, the Communication Specialist will help to create and execute the communications strategy for CCB.
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:
4-year degree preferred in Marketing, Business or related field. Knowledge of the principles of sound business communication, correct English usage, including spelling, grammar and punctuation required. Experience or background in non-profit administration preferred.Experience writing and creating communications/marketing materials.Advanced knowledge of office administration practices and procedures.Must demonstrate high quality, friendly, professional customer service and the ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly both in person and via telephone, email, or video.Technology skills and experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, Access, Power Point with the ability to generate clear, accurate records, reports and spreadsheets. Willingness to train on Massachusetts Virtual Gateway, Canva, Little Green Light and other software programs as needed.Proficiency with various social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Google , and Instagram, with a keen eye for graphic design, attention to detail, and creativity.Self-starter who is highly organized with ability to prioritize projects and tasks, detail-focused to accurately handle financial reporting and other details with minimal oversight.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working independently or in collaboration with others.Ability to take direction, to take initiative, to prioritize tasks, complete tasks, adhering to deadlines.Ability to work with a team of diverse professionals and consumers.Must be able to maintain confidentiality while supporting the overall mission, values, and goals of Child Care of the Berkshires.
Work Environment And Physical RequirementEmployees work under typical office conditions, at a desk or workstation, and the noise level is usually quiet. Employees are regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repeatedly to finger, handle and operate standard office equipment; reach with both hands and lift up to 25 pounds.
Work Schedule And YearThis is a 35-40 hour per week, year-round position.
SALARY RANGE : $20.00 - $23.00 per hour with benefits.
