Job Description: Children of America is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager works with company management, developers and contractors to ensure quality construction of our child care buildings. They also work to ensure the proper state and local licensing requirement are meet.
What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
- Work closely with the company real estate department to move projects forward.
- Work closely with developers and contractors to ensure new and retro-fitted buildings are built to Children of America standards and specifications
- Manage overall prototypes
- Attend planning board hearings as required
- Oversee new construction projects
- Visit construction sites monthly or as needed
- Work closely with the others in the Operations Department to obtain correct licensing for centers
- Meet with government inspectors to ensure compliance with all codes and regulations
- Work to find energy saving products to lower monthly utility costs
- Work to find alternate construction materials to lower construction costs
- Ensure classroom sizes and ratios are optimized
- Review all initial floor plans and sign off on final approval
- Work with developers in obtaining the lowest costs of construction
- Ensure that all activities operate consistently and ethically within the mission and values of Children of America
- Passionate about Children of America's mission and able to promote and communicate the philosophy, mission and values of Children of America to coworkers, customers and the community
What are the requirements to be successful in this role?
- Bachelor's degree
- Min 3-5 years of experience in construction management
- Must approach job with confidence and energy
- Must possess excellent communication and leadership skills,
- Must be highly organized in managing their various locations
- Must be knowledgeable in the construction field
- Must be driven with a positive attitude, placing a high value on customer service Must have the ability to work well under pressure
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
- Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours
- Working Conditions Physical Work Demands
- Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach daily
- Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
