Assistant Director

Are you an experienced and passionate professional looking to take the next step in your career? We're seeking an Assistant Director to join our team! In this role, you'll work closely with our Director to support departmental planning and monitor progress. You'll also support our staff and ensure that standards and regulations are consistently upheld.

Annual Compensation: $42,000.00 $49,000.00, commensurate with education and experience.

About Us:

Our philosophy centers on learning through play, providing a stimulating environment where children can thrive and develop. We serve children from 6 weeks old through school age (elementary), fostering growth, creativity, and a love for learning in every child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, schedule, and assist in interviewing teacher candidates; build networks of future talent.
  • Conduct classroom observations and evaluations, providing feedback to motivate and encourage learning.
  • Ensure the curriculum is effectively executed by managing the team.
  • Use a growth mindset to train, coach, and develop staff for future roles.
  • Listen objectively to employee concerns, and plan recommended courses of action.
  • Build and communicate weekly schedules.
  • Assist with daily management of classroom ratios.
  • Manage new hire paperwork and employee files in compliance with state licensing regulations.
  • Maintain center schedules to ensure appropriate ratios and manage labor effectively within budget.
  • Lead tours for prospective families, highlighting key features of our curriculum and staff quality.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
  • Audit and maintain all records and files for students and teachers.
  • Ensure physical environment and health/safety standards comply with local and state regulations.
  • Manage relationships with state licensors and conduct center evaluations.
  • Handle accident/incident reporting and medication management.
  • Conduct monthly emergency safety drills.
  • Manage new customer administration and files in compliance with state licensing regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of center assistant leadership/management experience are highly preferred, but at least one year is required.
  • Professional teaching experience with infants to preschool children is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in ECE or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of state licensing rules and regulations.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification are highly preferred.
  • Must meet state-specific guidelines.
