POSITION SUMMARY

Provides massage therapy to the patients of Children's Medical Center of Dallas through effective and safe massage techniques, improving lymphatic flow and circulation while relaxing body muscles.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Provide essential massage treatment to help improve patient circulation and lymphatic flow, make joints more flexible, relieve pain and relax tight muscles.

* Performs health history on patients and update prior to each session; ascertains precautions/contradictions for massage prior to each session.

* Collaborates with the health care team to implement a massage therapy plan of care and maintains verbal and written communication of the patient's progress with the health care team.

* Explain procedures and applies massage techniques appropriate to client needs and preferences. Ensures the patient and family are informed of plan of care for massage therapy.

* Identifies areas of education needs regarding massage therapy among clinical staff and other health care providers. Develops, presents, and evaluates educational programs to meet identified needs.

WORK EXPERIENCE

* Required: At least 1 year of experience providing message therapy to children in patient care setting

* Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish

EDUCATION

* Required: High school diploma or equivalent

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

* Required: Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Texas
