Children's Home Society of Washington is Hiring a Temporary Administrative/Accounting Assistant III Near Seattle, WA

**This position is a 4-month temporary role and is 100% on-site.**
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides higher level confidential administrative support for Manager(s), Director(s) and/or applicable department(s) or direct service program(s). Has access to protected healthcare information (PHI) or confidential identifiable information (CII), both paper and electronic, as necessary, to perform related job duties and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Interfaces with internal/external contacts requiring considerable discretion and initiative
  • Provides advanced word/data processing and spreadsheet support, including graphics and presentation software
  • Provides leadership in a variety of areas and may supervise staff, as requested
  • Provides general administrative support, which may include, but not limited to:
  • Enrollment screening and waiting list tracking
  • Responding to routine correspondence and screening telephone calls
  • Coordinating schedules and travel arrangements
  • Maintaining confidential files and records
  • Supporting committee(s)
  • May assist with coordination of volunteers, including recruiting volunteers, and assigning duties
  • May coordinate and/or research background material and collect data for reports, grant proposals, speeches and correspondence
  • May carry out assignments relating to meetings, committee activities and/or funding
  • May be responsible for compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements
  • May provide information and referral support, maintain resource lists, and minimal case management for program participants
  • May coordinate schedules and/or facilitate workshops, classes, special event, and other activities for an Akin direct service program
  • Provides leadership and direction with other activities/duties, as requested
  • Inputting & tracking data using various software programs
  • Assists with finance and billing
  • Purchase and track supplies
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Advocates for the values of a diverse population within Akin and the Community
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrated leadership skills reflected in progressive administrative service responsibilities
  • Advanced knowledge of office procedures and efficiency with computer software MS Office, including the ability to write clear and grammatically correct letters, memos and reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively with diverse populations and all levels of personnel
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and prioritize individual and departmental responsibilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness, exercise good judgment and discretion
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, human service organizations
  • Must possess strong human relations skills to communicate and work effectively within a culturally diverse work environment and community
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
This job is performed in a professional office environment. The following list is representative of the work environment employees encounter while performing the essential functions of this job:
  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, printers, phones)

  • Ability to work in a confined area
  • Ability to sit at a computer for an extended period
  • Limited travel to other site locations within the state
WORKING REMOTELY:
Working remotely is a benefit of Akin's flexible workplace, but remote work cannot be offered for all positions. Some positions require daily presence in the office. Remote work arrangements may be adjusted or rescinded based upon business needs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard; occasionally to reach, stoop and kneel
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Five years of related work experience preferred Or, any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to perform the duties and responsibilities
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check
  • Successful completion of a drivers check if position requires driving on a regular basis (at least three times per week) or drives consumers. Must not have more than two driving incidents within the last three years
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Business or related course work
  • Bi-lingual as needed

SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
The salary range for this position is $22.54 - $30.67. The starting salary range for this position is $22.54 - $24.57 DOE for external candidates.
Full-time employees will also receive 10 days of vacation leave each year, three Employee Appreciation Day each year, and will accrue one sick day per month (pro-rated for part-time employees). Employees will also enjoy 15 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. We also offer EAP and mental health benefits.
