A Brief Overview
The AVP Service and Logistics Center Operations role is a position that leads, supports, and directs operational aspects of the non-clinical support services associated with the offsite service center, as assigned. Under the direction of the VP Supply Chain, AVP position is designed intentionally to be a generalist leadership role that can adjust to the needs of a dynamic organization. Significant experience in healthcare leadership at all levels of an organization, hospital operations experience, and healthcare strategy experience are required for this role. An extensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities that exist within healthcare operations and strong business acumen are essential qualification for this role. This role requires very strong communication skills and the ability to influence individuals and teams at all levels of the organization.
The AVP Service and Logistics Center Operations can represent the VP of Supply Chain as needed at any meeting and functions as an executive leader at CHOP and, as such, exhibits executive behaviors at all times. This position aligns with senior executives / clinicians and shares the responsibility for ensuring overall superior business performance.
The AVP Service and Logistics Center Operations serves as a business leader, exercising strong communications and collaboration skills that support an integrative and effective matrix-based organizational model. This position leads and motivates cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals. This position would have direct reports as well as matrix relationships across several functions. Additionally, this position ensures compliance with all CHOP policies and procedures and regulatory requirements while fostering patient safety and promoting transformational innovation.
What you will do

  • Lead and direct the operations of the central support center, including inventory management, high level disinfection, and logistics that support the enterprise
  • Drive and oversee optimization of the operations and financial performance of the Service & Logistics Center operations, including coordination across multiple service departments, provide excellent customer service center and track service level agreements
  • Direct, supervise and collaborate with various administrative leaders, in direct and matrix relationships
  • Ensure all areas of responsibility are aligned with enterprise strategy and goals
  • Ensure all areas involved in development of and accountable for the alignment of central support center operations strategy and goals
  • Effectively navigate and influence various administrators, clinical leaders and staff at all levels across the CHOP enterprise
  • Remain abreast of:
  • o external conditions and forces that could impact CHOP operations
  • o best practices from other healthcare organizations that apply to areas of responsibility
  • In partnership with other Supply Chain leaders maintain positive relations with external partners/vendors
  • Develops and maintains strong internal customer relationships.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Master's Degree Business, HealthCare or related discipline Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • At least ten (10) years experience in hospital and/or healthcare environment Required
  • At least ten (10) years experience in a healthcare leadership role Required
  • At least ten (10) years hospital and/or healthcare environment in an operations leadership role, preferably Supply Chain or Logistics Preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Hospital operations/technical services background desired
  • Healthcare regulatory knowledge desired (TJC, DOH, etc)
  • Ability to manage diverse staff and promote productivity
  • Ability to identify problems and find creative, innovative, and effective solutions
  • Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative analysis
  • Operating style that builds and leverages teamwork and cooperation
