Overview

To assist with departmental administrative functions related to the enterprise-wide Emergency Management Program. Reporting to the Director, this position will participate in conducting institutional risk assessment, program management, event management, risk communication, training and education, grant administration and all activities required to meet regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the coordination of enertprise-wide hospital based emrgency management program.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of all aspects of the hospitals disaster response including, but not limited to, the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), various EOP response annexes and supporting policies, and support and maintenance of the Hospital Command Center (HCC).
  • Maintain the emergency management training program to include development and management of curriculum and training events. This will include hazmat training, evacuation training, active shooter simulations, among other disaster training initiatives. 
  • Assist other staff and associated personnel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Preferred 1-2 years' experience in healthcare, emergency management, disaster response, training and exercises.
  • Preferred experience in curriculum development and in-person training and simulations.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $27.87/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
