Overview

The Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes at Children's Mercy Kansas City is seeking a fellowship-trained, board-certified/board-eligible pediatric endocrinologist to join our four pediatric endocrinologists at our multispecialty campus in Wichita, KS. The position's duties are primarily clinical, with opportunities for clinical research. Educational opportunities are available in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical School in Wichita, with a chance for a clinical academic rank. The ideal candidate will have an interest in both endocrinology and diabetes.

The patient population is diverse in this busy practice, which draws from a large region in western Kansas. Our physicians also participate in outreach clinics in surrounding western Kansas cities. Inpatient care at three community hospitals in Wichita is managed by hospitalists and pediatric intensivists, with endocrinologists serving as consultants. The electronic health record in the outpatient clinics is part of the Children's Mercy integrated network.

Teleconferencing allows for participation in Children's Mercy educational activities and conferences. Colleagues in Kansas City are accessible for professional discussions and consultation.

The Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes at Children's Mercy currently includes 29 pediatric endocrinologists, up to 7 fellows, 5 nurse practitioners, social workers, staff nurses, certified diabetes educators, care assistants, and clinical research coordinators. We serve two campuses in Wichita, KS, and Topeka, KS, and several outreach clinics in Kansas and Missouri. The division has a widely recognized and well-funded research program, including a wide range of bench and clinical research projects in diabetes and general endocrinology.
