Children's Rescue Fund is Hiring a Regional Director of Security Operations Near New York, NY

Job DescriptionReporting to the Assistant Vice President of Facility/Operations, the Regional Director of Operations will have oversite responsibilities of CRF security personnel and contracted security throughout the organization. In collaboration with the Directors of Building Operations, the RDSO will ensure the facilities meet legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements and ensure the development of strong cohesive Security teams who can sustain and support the vision and mission of the organization by achieving organizational goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Organizational Development:
  • Participates in the framing of the vision and direction of current and future programming for the organization in keeping with the organization’s strategic goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with the AVP of Facility/Operations in ensuring all facilities meet organizational and contractual standards in the implementation of security procedures. The Regional Director of Security Operations ensures organizational policies and procedures are implemented consistently across all sites.
  • Collaborates with the AVPs and Director of CQI in developing and revising policies and procedures.
Contract and Security Management:
  • Conduct regular site visits on all shifts to monitor staff performance, consistency in the implementation of operational procedures, and standards of professionalism across all sites.
  • Conducts audits of critical files to ensure compliance with funder and regulatory agency requirements. This includes the review of CRF security staff licenses and certifications (CPR, Security licenses, Certificate of Fitness Fire Guard, F-80, F-89, food handler’s certification, etc.); logbooks, fire drills, food logs, contracted security sign-in sheets and completed appropriate and are maintained in a secured space. Review DBO and PD findings and establish with DBO plans for correction with clear expectations.
  • Supports the Program Directors and DBOs in addressing issue contracted security staffing issues (which includes quality of personnel, replacement coverage and consistency in staffing).
  • Conducts facility walkthroughs to ensure the facility is meeting all required fire safety standards. Reports landlord-related findings to AVP of Facility/Operations for follow-up with the landlord. Collaborates with AVP to ensure findings related to contractual obligations are corrected promptly.
  • Monitors and tracks compliance with local law 124 (about Security Guard training requirements). Submits required reports to DHS.
  • Monitors and ensures monthly fire drills are conducted regularly on all shifts. Participates in the coordination of fire drills to ensure fire safety standards are met.
CQI & Risk Management:
  • Collaborates with the DBOs in updating security and emergency disaster plans. Ensures compliance with security and emergency disaster plans to ensure client safety and organizational continuity.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Quality Assurance, DBO, and Directors in identifying areas for facility improvement and developing/implementing CQI projects.
  • Reviews CCTV and retrieves recordings when requested by leadership or DHS.
  • Collaborates with DBOs and AVP in assessing the effectiveness of security equipment and recommends upgrades (changes) as needed.
  • Collaborates with AVP, PD’s and DBO in assessing effectiveness of procedures, participates in the development of new procedures (or update existing procedures).
  • Will lead staff training sessions (ie., Crisis Prevention Intervention/ de-escalation; confidentiality, ethics, and boundaries, etc.) as needed.
Staff Management & Development:
  • Hires, trains, and provides coaching and support to direct reports. Provides on-going performance feedback and reviews in accordance with organizational policies. Collaborates with the Directors and Human Resources in addressing staff performance issues. Promotes collaboration and effective communication amongst staff and between divisions.
  • Supervises the implementation of performance management practices by the DBO’s and of all CRF security staff and identifies areas of growth for staff development. Ensures all Security staff receive the required training and meet licensing requirements.
  • In collaboration with the Directors of Facilities Operations and the Directors, the Regional Director coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Security teams. Sets priorities and oversees special projects.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Facilitate effective communication with other staff within an interdisciplinary context, participate in and contribute to staff meetings, and the development of policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training and staff-development activities to acquire and maintain both interpersonal and operational skills necessary for successful job performance.
  • Participate as an active member of the Homeless Services Senior Team in the development of departmental policies and procedures and long-term strategic planning, and function as an effective team member to enhance overall service provision and inter-unit staff collaboration.
PRINCIPAL RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Regular and significant contact with a variety of community agencies.
  • Regular and significant contact with assigned staff and volunteers providing for their development, assessing their performance, and providing necessary guidance.
  • Regular and significant contact with other facility management personnel, ensuring the effective integration of activities and the formulation and implementation of facility policies.
  • Regular contact with clients to respond to their needs while maintaining a safe and secure environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Security and facilities industry.
  • Must maintain active status of Security and Fire Safety Director License, CPR Certification, and Driver’s license required.
Experience:
  • 10 years of experience in a social service setting including at least 6 years of significant supervisory experience and 4 years of administrative residential program experience involving material management, fire safety, and security procedure.
Related Skills:
  • Skills in leading, motivating, and evaluating the performance of assigned staff.
  • Skills in identifying operational problems and formulating and implementing realistic solutions.
  • Skills in prioritizing work and marshaling necessary resources under stressful situations due to client circumstances.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations skills to foster cooperative working relationships.
  • Knowledge of office systems; MS Office preferred.
