Position Summary-The Child & Family Counseling program provides care for children and adolescents with mental and behavioral health diagnoses, many who have also experienced trauma or been a victim of a crime. The Mental and Behavioral Health Care Coordinator (MBHCC) partners with the clinical team to provide support and coordination services to these families. The MBHCC works closely with families assess their needs and to link them to health care, community and social resources as necessary. They will work with providers to ensure follow-up and coordination of recommended treatment(s).
Position Requirements-
  • High school education or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in human services field preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a related field with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Scheduling experience preferred.
  • Experience working with families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds strongly preferred.
  • Ability to navigate, coordinate multiple services, prioritize and multi-task to meet the needs of patients, parents, and clinic staff.
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written) necessary for assessment of health concerns and referral for appropriate service delivery.
  • Demonstrated teamwork within the department or community
  • Organizational skills necessary to maintain records, coordinate clinic appointments and prioritize work independently.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated skills in creative problem-solving, and have knowledge of the assets and challenges of the mental health and traumatized population they are serving.
  • Has and maintains current knowledge of available community resources.
