Job purpose

We are seeking a talented Content and Email Writer to join our dynamic marketing team. This role is pivotal in enriching our website and enhancing our email campaigns with engaging blog posts, informative guides, and compelling marketing copy. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with a knack for producing online content that resonates with audiences, drives member engagement, and elevates brand awareness.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research on industry-related topics utilizing online sources, interviews, and studies to craft informed content.
  • Write clear, persuasive marketing copy to promote our products and services.
  • Proofread and edit digital media content, press releases, and emails before publication to ensure accuracy and coherence.
  • Collaborate with marketing and design teams to complement articles with appropriate visuals.
  • Implement basic keyword research and apply SEO best practices to boost web traffic.
  • Assist in promoting content on social media and optimizing the impact of these efforts.
  • Identify content gaps based on member needs and spearhead new content initiatives.
  • Maintain content consistency across all platforms, including style, fonts, images, and tone.
  • Regularly update website content as per the evolving needs of the organization.
  • Produce versatile copy for various stages of the marketing funnel, including social media, emails, web pages, blogs, videos, and more.
  • Engage in content strategy sessions and brainstorming with the marketing team to generate innovative ideas.
  • Use tools like Google Analytics to optimize content and understand audience interactions.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gain in-depth knowledge of our products, services, and member needs.
  • Develop and execute strategic email campaigns that effectively onboard, engage, and retain members.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, or related fields is required.
  • 2 years of marketing experience with increasing levels of responsibility; proven success.
  • 2 years professional experience with digital media, digital marketing, social media communications and email marketing platforms is required.
  • Creative thinker with excellent storytelling capabilities.
  • Proactive learner and open to constructive feedback.
  • Comfortable with conducting interviews and managing communications over platforms like Zoom.
  • Knowledgeable in SEO and current digital marketing trends.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Ridiculous attention to detail.
  • Team-player and builder who can execute and thrive in a fast-paced environment and startup environment within a non-profit, member-centric organization; strong decision-maker with the ability to reorient teams and drive execution cross-functionally when priorities change or are ambiguous.
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy or efficiency.
  • Organized, knowing how to apply a structured approach, but also flexible and adaptable to individual situations.
  • Professional presence and ability to develop strong working relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated and energetic, with an ability to instill this in the team around them.
  • High ethical standards and personal integrity.

Working conditions

This is a remote based position. Some travel will be required.
