Job Description:


Job Summary:

Chloeta is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant for a clinic in Ft. Duchesne, Utah.

Our ambulatory 40-hour facility is staffed by physicians, physician's assistants, nurse practitioners, and dental, optometry, and psychology providers. We provide comprehensive public health services including general medical, surgical follow-up, pediatric, prenatal and postpartum care. Dental, behavioral health, and optometry services are also available. Other clinical specialties are provided by visiting consultants and are scheduled periodically. Patients requiring more complex medical care are referred to the hospital or other contract facilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide oral health service to the designated population in accordance with facility policies and professional standards.
  • Adhere to the scope of work and accept work assignments from the Dental Chief.
  • Perform routine chairside assistance including the recording of examination information and treatment performed.
  • Perform routine dental laboratory procedures.
  • Set up routine and specialty instruments in order to prepare for and assist in normal clinical procedures.
  • Perform dental x-rays equipment in order to expose, process and mount intra and extra-oral radiographs.
  • Accurately record treatment and examination information in patient record.
  • Knowledge of an electronic health record and Dentrix aspects of patient care.
  • Keep operatory properly stocked and maintain clinic areas in a clean and operative condition. Keep all instruments sharpened and properly sterilized.
  • Take primary impression for study models, pours and trims models, fabricates custom trays and bite rims.
  • Place and remove rubber dams, removes sutures, applies desensitizing agents, places surgical gauze following extractions and applies and removes periodontal dressings.
  • Conduct patient education about good dental health practices, post-operative care, and participate in educational programs for the improvement of health conditions among service population.
  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may change with or without notice.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Must be a graduate of an accredited school and possess a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification.
  • Required: Associate degree or Diploma in a related field of study.
  • Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience in specialty
  • Experience working with an electronic dental record (EDR) software.
  • Required: current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Required: Possess and maintain a current driver's license in any state.
  • Licenses, resume, references, and certifications are due at the time of application and can be emailed to certification@chloeta.com.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to withstand physical and emotional stress.
  • Must be able to stand and move for long periods of time.
  • Able to frequently lift at least 50 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • At the time of hire, must provide a fitness for duty certificate issued by a licensed physician to perform the proposed job without significant risk to personal health or the health and safety of others.
  • At the time of hire, must provide documentation of evidence of immunizations as required by the facility's immunization policy.

Pre-employment Requirements:

This position may be contingent upon passing a security clearance, criminal background check (state and federal), drug screen, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review, education verification, employment verification, and/or credit check after acceptance of an offer and prior to beginning work, due to the nature of the services Chloeta provides and the responsibilities of this position.

Drug and Alcohol Testing:

To enforce Chloeta’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, an employee or candidate could be subject to undergoing a drug screen and/or alcohol testing at the beginning of employment, as well as after commencement of employment where there is reasonable suspicion of intoxication, or following an automobile or other accident, or as part of a company or facility-wide random drug screen process.

Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA):

Under the FCRA, Chloeta may request a credit check during the onboarding process. A written authorization form will be required before obtaining credit records.
