Adoption Worker
As-needed position in Oregon and Washington.
Description
The Adoption Worker is responsible for conducting home studies and post-placement follow-up for infant, independent, and/or foster child adoptions. The Adoption Worker will represent Oregon DHS adoption selection committees, as needed. The Adoption Worker will ensure the delivery of quality services consistent with state licensing and Choice Adoption's standards of practice. Training and education of pre-adoptive families is a priority.
Duties In this position:
The Adoption Worker will inform pre- and post-adoptive families of local resources to help prepare them for, and experience success in, adoptive parenting. The Adoption Worker is also responsible to ensure proper documentation of services along with timely preparation and submission of documents and reports. Travel to family homes and committee locations within Oregon and Washington is required.
The Adoption Worker will communicate closely with the Choice staff, sharing in a timely manner all information relevant to the adoption process that is obtained while providing home study and post placement services.
Qualifications
Master's or bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited program of social work education, or a combination of a bachelor's degree in another human service field and experience in family and children's services or adoption. At least 2 years of experience writing adoption home studies. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Agreement with the mission statement and non-discrimination policy of Choice Adoptions.
Compensation and Other Requirements:
Cover letter and resume required for consideration. Must be able to travel and work remotely.
Choice Adoptions is an equal employment provider. Salary is $25/ hr (for casework, travel time, staff meetings, etc. plus generous fees for services as follows:
