Chord Energy is Hiring a Non-Op Landman Near Houston, TX
Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Non-Operated Landman to oversee our non-operated programs in the Bakken, Marcellus, and DJ Basins. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, A&D experience, be self-motivated, be creative in problem solving, organized, and foster strong working relationships. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills to drive value and optimize production from our non-operated assets. This role will work closely with our corporate planning, accounting, and non op subsurface team to ensure success in our non-operated endeavors. This position is located in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience. Essential Job Functions
Acquire, trade, and divest undeveloped leaseholds to consolidate holdings in areas of interest
Negotiate, draft and interpret various types of land contracts including JOA's, Exploration Agreements, Trades, Assignments, Unit Agreements, and all Confidentiality Agreements
Write and negotiate contracts while managing contractual matters associated with the Chord asset base for non-operated assets
Collaborate with Business Development, subsurface team, legal, and other teams on all activity related to Land negotiations
Lead internal land team communication between Land Tech, Lease Records, and Division Order Analysts
Conduct title research, ensure clear title, and other land related due diligence support for non-operated acquisitions and divestitures
Maintain accurate records of non-operated land transactions and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards
Build and maintain relationships with non-operated partners, operated landmen, subsurface counterparts, and regulatory agencies
Research and report the company’s ownership position, competitor activity, potential legal issues, or other matters for the purpose of decision making and strategic planning

Bachelors degree
Three (3) years of previous landman experience in a land department of an unconventional E&P company
A fundamental understanding of exploration and exploitation procedures
Familiarity with computerized land management systems and proficiency in core office applications (word processing, database, spreadsheets, E-mail, mapping packages)
Possess excellent presentation and negotiation skills
Display a professional, energetic, enthusiastic and participative attitude towards the team's goals and objectives
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
Strong excel and software skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
Ability to meet deadlines
Willingness to travel 10-15%

Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Land/Energy Management
Certification/minor in land management or a related field
Experience with ARC GIS a plus
Experience with the Enertia System
Experience in Marcellus, Bakken, or DJ Basins
