Role’s Mission:The West Campus Associate Pastor will carry out the ministry and operations of the West Campus as a necessary and complementary partner to the West Campus Pastor. Alongside him, the Associate Pastor will make sure the campus is run according to the strategic direction of the Elder Board, in accordance with Christ Chapel's policies and procedures, and in accordance with Christ Chapel's ministry and cultural DNA. Primarily, he will accomplish this mission through the following roles:

1. As a Co-Shepherd of the congregation this person will assist the West Campus Pastor with ministering to the day-to-day spiritual needs of the congregation, such as hospital visitation, weddings, funerals, baptisms, parent dedications, venue pastor duties, and pastoral counseling.
2. The Associate Pastor will be the Implementor of Central Services’ vision for discipleship at the West Campus. As such, this person will coordinate a robust offering of adult education opportunities and recruit, train, and deploy staff and lay-teachers to facilitate them.
3. As a Cultivator this person will work in partnership with Central Services to oversee adult ministries as assigned by the West Campus Pastor and ensure that they are consistently growing within the mission, vision, and values of each department. This person will foster a robust development strategy to ensure an ample supply of well-trained volunteers to sustain the ministry.

Christ Chapel’s Mission:To stretch every involved person from the threshold of their spiritual pilgrimage toward becoming a fully-developing follower of Christ (Col 1:28-29).

Role’s Reporting Relationship:This position reports directly to the West Campus Pastor.

Qualifications

Role’s Requirements:

1. Must be a Christian with an Elder-qualified character (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9)
2. Must be a maturing believer who is obviously, consistently, and increasingly manifesting the fruit of the Spirit in his daily walk with Christ (Galatians 5:22-23) as well as among others
3. Must embrace Christ Chapel's doctrinal position and constitution without reservation and be an advocate of our doctrine and philosophy of ministry both in public and in private
4. Must be willing to complete at least a two-year degree (a three-year M.Div. or a four-year Th.M. are preferred) from an accredited evangelical seminary.
5. If a believer only receives one gift (1 Pet 4:10), then the ideal candidate has the spiritual gift of pastor/shepherd or leadership.
