Corporate Work Study Overview
Christ the King Jesuit College Prep, through the Cristo Rey Network model, prepares young men and
women from Chicago’s West Side to be leaders and agents of change through the integration of college-
preparatory study, work experience, extracurricular activities, and service. Through participation in the
Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP), our students earn up to 60% of their education costs and they
develop the skills and gain the experiences necessary for college and career success.
Over 100 Chicagoland businesses and non-profit organizations partner with CTK by hiring students to
work in entry level positions in their organizations. One position is filled by a team of four students who
each work one day per week and rotate on the fifth workday. CWSP provides a dedicated liaison to
ensure a successful work placement for both corporate partners and students.
Job Summary – Director of Student & Partner Success
The Director of Student and Partner Success works collaboratively with the Vice President for Corporate
Work Study to determine and execute the strategy to retain jobs for CTK students through the
implementation of high impact, effective practices that facilitate student and partner success. The
Director supervises the CWSP Success Team, leading the student and partner success coordinators in
their management of student and partner portfolios and the career readiness curriculum coordinator in
the development and implementation of career readiness curriculum. The Director also oversees CWSP
volunteers and works collaboratively with the operations and corporate partner development teams.
The Director represents CWSP on the Administrative Leadership Team for the school, collaborating with
the Principal, Assistant Principal, and Deans on matters related to student success. The Director ensures
compliance with all Department of Labor regulations and expectations.

Key Responsibilities
Student Learning, Development, and Job Success (Student Success)
The Director of Student and Partner Success is responsible for building and managing all efforts focused
on maximizing student learning, development, and job success, collectively referred to as student
success, through the Corporate Work Study Program.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives and manage the day-to-day work focused on increasing
student success.
  • Lead the team of Student and Partner Success Coordinators in effectively placing students in CWSP

jobs and providing the support, coaching, and accountability to maximize their success. Ensure
that students and Success Coordinators are systematically discussing work performance and
develop a system to ensure regular student check-ins (i.e. during advisory, after- school).

  • Utilize knowledge of best practices in student learning and adolescent development to design,
implement, and maintain programs, initiatives, operating structures, policies, procedures,
interventions, and accountability measures that engage students and positively impact their
success.
  • Lead the Career Readiness Curriculum Coordinator in developing, implementing, and assessing
effective career readiness curriculum including:
‒ 4-year curriculum to maximize learning, development, and career readiness throughout

students’ complete CWSP journey.
‒ Curriculum to engage students on days when their employer asks that they not come in to

work and when they have downtime while at work.
‒ Weekly curriculum for students who are not assigned to a CWSP job (due to an insufficient

number of jobs available) on their class’s assigned workday.
  • Utilize the Salesforce database, timecards, and mid-year and end-of-year performance evaluations

ensure effective performance tracking. Maintain a program to highlight student success. Ensure
effective tracking and follow up with students who have performance challenges.

  • Lead the full Success Team in developing, implementing, utilizing, and assessing interventions for
students who are having challenges in their job success and need additional support in their
learning and development. Oversee and ensure the effectiveness of the 8-week reemployment
program for students who are terminated from their jobs.
  • Coordinate a 2-week Summer Business Training and Orientation program for freshmen and
incoming transfer students each summer. Oversee the Career Readiness Curriculum Coordinator in
developing the curriculum and hiring teachers and the Student and Partner Success Team in
coordinating all logistics and communication.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to educate families and guardians and to support them in
supporting their student’s success.
  • Represent CWSP and/or coordinate CWSP representation at all student and prospective student
events such as parent teacher conferences, new student orientation, admissions events and
interviews, back to school night, senior activities, etc.
Partner Success and Retention
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to increase job partner success and retention and
manage the day-to-day operations of partner support.
  • Supervise and support the Student and Partner Success Coordinators in managing their portfolio of

job partners and attend site visits and meetings with partners as needed to facilitate their success
in the work study program.
‒ Cultivate a partner relationship management approach that emphasizes responsiveness and

collaboration.
‒ Ensure that supervisors and Success Coordinators are systematically discussing student work

performance.
‒ Ensure supervisors receive effective support and resolution when challenges in student work

performance arise.
  • Support job partners and prospective job partners in developing roles for students that maximize

the benefit of the work study program to both the partner and the student while effectively
utilizing supervisor time and partner resources.

  • Develop and execute job partner orientation programing and a curriculum of on-going training for
job supervisors to increase their familiarity with and success in their role in the work study
program.
  • Facilitate supervisor engagement with CTK and with each other through programs, events,
workshops, peer groups, and professional development.
Program Management
  • Lead the successful execution of all CWSP policies (attendance, behavior, discipline, dress code,

recognition, remediation, and grading), ensuring high expectations and high support for students’
work performance and cohesive CWSP policy integration within the school.
‒ Assist with institution of controls to reduce the number of work absences.

  • Oversees execution and ongoing optimization of routine program elements, i.e. morning check-in,
emergency procedures, site visits, timecards, mid-year and end-of-year performance evaluations,
etc.
  • Accountable for all legal, safety, and employment requirements (Federal, State, local) for the CTK
CWSP program. Coordinate with the CWSP Operations Manager and supervise the Success
Coordinators in their roles related to these requirements. Keep the Vice President apprised of the
status CTK’s compliance with these requirements.
  • Leverages Salesforce reporting to develop tracking mechanisms that ensure a high level of quality
control and accountability for operational excellence.
  • Develops, refines, and/or documents CWSP procedural processes that allow the day-to-day
program operations to run smoothly.
  • Utilize effective communication strategies to ensure that partners always receive the information
they need and utilize effective communication to keep supervisors connected to CTK and CWSP.
Send a monthly program update to all supervisors.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Act as the system administrator for the operations portion of Salesforce, ensuring that all aspects
of the system are utilized to the maximum benefit of CTK.
  • Develop and execute on an annual assessment plan and implement changes in response to
learnings.
  • Serve on the Administrative Leadership Team and primary point of collaboration for all student
specific topics that impact both academics and CWSP.
  • Manage all student conduct and behavioral concerns in coordination with the Dean of Students.
  • Complete, pass, and maintain PACE certification, including regular and random criminal
background, drug, and alcohol checks.
  • Serve as a substitute driver or downtown bus chaperone on an as-needed basis and coordinate the

success team in doing the same.

Qualifications
A successful candidate will possess the following knowledge skills and abilities:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, with Master’s degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in secondary education, higher education,

workforce development, social services, or related field. 3-5 years of teaching experience strongly
preferred.

  • Prior experience effectively supervising or mentoring professional staff.
  • Passion for education and the mission of Christ the King Jesuit College Prep including CTK’s Jesuit
Catholic identity and the model of the Cristo Rey Network.
  • Demonstrated success teaching, counselling, coaching, and/or advocating for young people from
under resourced communities.
  • Cultural competence in addressing complex issues and a demonstrated commitment to promoting
inclusion, equity, diversity, and accessibility.
  • Collaborative, flexible, creative, and entrepreneurial approach.
  • Strong technology skills including proficiency with MS Office Suite (excel, word, ppt).
  • Excellent organizational, time management, attention to detail, and administrative skills
  • Flexibility to adjust hours as needed and to meet deadlines and school needs.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Valid Driver’s License, proof of insurance, and clean driving record.
  • Successfully complete and pass PACE certification, including a criminal background check and
drug/alcohol tests (marijuana included).
  • Proof of COVID vaccination strongly preferred.
