Position Summary
As a rapidly growing Federally Qualified Health Center, we are looking for a self-starter who is eager to help us execute our mission by expanding our program lines. The Development Manager will be responsible for leading the research, planning, and writing of CCHC’s grants and related reports. The Development Manager will also be responsible for leading efforts to cultivate, secure and steward new government, foundation, corporate, and individual contributions.
This includes, but is not limited to, providing guidance to the development team; collaborating with Program Directors on the development of grant activities; partnering with Finance on effective grant budgeting; and working with executive level management to identify grants that tie to CCHC’s strategic priorities.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Oversee CCHC’s Development Department strategies that align with the mission, vision, business, and organizational goals.
- Develop and implement an integrated development plan designed to maximize governmental and private funds for sustainable development and growth of CCHC’s Lines of Work and support the agency community priorities.
- Coordination of monthly prospecting to identify new opportunities to present to executive management. Provide a written summary of grant source, and an abstract or work stream.
- Lead grant application preparation and submission activities.
- Work closely with finance team on budget preparation and assign grant writer to work with designated program managers on the application. Serve as the final reviewer of application prior to submission.
- Serve as the lead on HRSA NAP, Part C and Section 330 compete and non-compete applications.
- Monitor HRSA EHB for updated NOA, programmatic reports and grant renewals and submissions
- Develop, track, and evaluate an annual Development Plan with target goals by source and timeline.
- Prepare slide decks for grant site visits.
- Research and pursue innovative funding streams.
- Provide guidance for all grant proposals including quality control and final submission
- Maintenance of GuideStar and other grant portals
- Work closely with leadership on new access points, proforma, mapping for care gaps and unmet needs.
- Prepare and maintain internal tracking checklists and timeline documents
- Maintains grant calendar of upcoming application and reporting deadlines
- Provide leadership to support strong and effective communications and working relationships internally with program stakeholders as well as externally with funders.
- Co-lead the development of the community health needs assessment and strategic plan.
- Oversee the marketing & communication concept, distribution and monitoring via social media platforms, community newsletter, press releases and website.
- Provide the COO with a dashboard of social media utilization data sets and trends.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the timely submission of funder reports including narrative updates, outcome reporting, financial spend down, and financial reporting.
- Supervise the grant writers and communication positions
- Oversee the communication personnel to build out and manage CCHC’s marketing/communication strategies and communication.
- Collaborate to set annual, quarterly, and monthly grant-seeking goals.
- Assist with grant writing and proposals.
- Participate in monthly management meetings.
- Provide weekly summary of key performance indicators and developmental updates.
- Attend relevant networking events to cultivate new relationships.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimal Qualifications/ Experience/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Understanding of health care related programs, priorities, and policy environment
- Experience with Federally Qualified Health Care Centers and Section 330 statute preferred.
- At least 3 years of progressive and demonstrated development experience.
- Strong knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies, including grant-writing for government and foundation funders.
- Knowledge of community health services, public health or related fields a plus.
- Strong written communication skills, ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
