Christian County Government is Hiring a Benefits Coordinator Near Christian County Government, MO

Christian County's Human Resources Department is now taking applications for a full-time Benefits Coordinator. This position would be responsible for providing benefit administration and providing administrative support of the day-to-day office operations in the Human Resources department while providing exceptional service to the employees of Christian County Government. The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Explains, interprets, and answers questions regarding medical, dental, vision, disability, life, flexible spending plans, EAP program, COBRA, workers’ compensation, ADA, and/or FMLA to employees; Verifies information to ensure eligibility, compliance, and plan requirements are met prior to enrolling or de-enrolling employees and dependents for benefit plans; Schedules and meets with new employees monthly to disseminate and educate on health insurance information; Distributes health insurance information to all parties as required for processing, enters insurance information into the Payroll software, and maintains employee benefit files; Coordinates and implements employee benefit events, including Wellness Fairs and Open Enrollment, plus assists with employee engagement events; Assists employees with benefit claim related questions and problems, as well as Human Resources related questions; Schedules pre-employment background screenings, drug and medical screenings; Reviews enrollment data to ensure employees meet eligibility requirements prior to enrollment, maintains eligibility, and removes employees and/or dependents when no longer eligible; Assists with FMLA tracking/reports; Ensures COBRA notices are communicated timely; Reconciles monthly bills and coordinates timely payments; Stays current with Payroll processes, and serves as an auxiliary; Assists with Recruitment, including applicant tracking and interviewing and all other duties as assigned. 

Education: Associate Degree Required; Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Experience: Minimum 2 years administering/coordinating employee benefits. Candidate must possess or be able to become a public notary, within three months of employment.

In addition, the successful candidate must be professional, courteous, have excellent customer service and organizational skills, advanced computer skills and must be able to readily identify and maintain confidential information. The ideal candidate would possess in-depth knowledge of HR principles, regulations, trends and best practices plus great attention to detail and the ability to multi-task while dealing with interruptions. This position must be able to pass an extensive background check and a drug test.
