Christian County Government is Hiring a HR Generalist Near Christian County Government, MO

Christian County's Human Resources Department is now taking applications for a full-time HR Generalist. This position is responsible for performing the daily functions of the Human Resources Department and benefit administration on a professional level, while providing exceptional service to the employees of Christian County Government. The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Handling all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, exit interviews, and ensuring that all data is entered accurately across all departments. Recruitment duties, including applicant tracking and interviewing, and scheduling pre-employment background screenings, drug and medical screenings. Regularly assists employees with Human Resources related questions. Explains, interprets, and answers questions regarding medical, dental, vision, disability, life, flexible spending plans, EAP program, COBRA, workers’ compensation, ADA, and/or FMLA to employees; Verifies information to ensure eligibility, compliance, and plan requirements are met prior to enrolling or de-enrolling employees and dependents for benefit plans. Enters insurance deductions into the Payroll software and maintains employee files. Administers FMLA and COBRA. Administers employee benefit events, including wellness fairs and open enrollment. Assists with employee engagement and training events. Oversees maintenance of personnel files; regularly audits files for accuracy and compliance. Attends closed session personnel meetings and takes minutes. Serves as primary backup in the absence of the HR Director; and all other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree and HR Certification Required. 

Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in Human Resources (experience administering and coordinating employee benefits preferred). Candidate must possess or be able to become a public notary within three months of employment. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu education requirements.

In addition, the successful candidate must be professional, courteous, have excellent customer service and organizational skills, advanced computer skills and must be able to readily identify and maintain confidential information. The ideal candidate would possess in-depth knowledge of HR principles, regulations, trends and best practices plus great attention to detail and the ability to multi-task while dealing with interruptions. This position must be able to pass an extensive background check and a drug test.
