JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The objective for this position is responsible for discipline and counseling for young students. This position will communicate directly to the Secondary Headmaster on a regular basis. This position must agree with and support the Faculty/Board Member's Covenant and agree with/help fulfill CHA's Mission Statement.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities and Tasks)

Hold beginning and end-of-the-year Dress Code Assemblies
Counsel with students as needed regarding personal issues and school-related issues
Mentor students
Provide positive reinforcement, parent calls, and activities for struggling students
Administer and enforce school policies related to discipline and student attendance
Oversee and supervise management of student attendance and discipline records
Assist faculty with student behavior and concerns
Work with headmasters to establish steps and procedures to handle challenging students and standards of conduct
Communicate to parents, teachers and faculty regarding infractions of the code of conduct, academic integrity, or other policies
Monitor student’s excessive absences and tardies and communicate those to parents
Enforce Dress Code Policy
Serve as an administrator on duty at school events
Administer and provide documentation of discipline as needed
Assist in the development of policies of student discipline and behavior
Attend Professional Development throughout the year, including Wednesday afternoons explaining the school’s philosophy, curriculum, and methodology.
Complete any Principle Approach Assignments in a given year.
Follow the CHA’s Conflict Resolution Policy in dealing with staff, administration, students, and parents in regard to disagreements or misunderstandings.
Seeks to follow and implement the school’s philosophy and methodology (Principle Approach) as it is outlined in various publications.

Serve as administrator on duty for various school events.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional school environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time, 10-month salary position, payable on a 12-month pay schedule with ten hours in the summer.
Performance Standards
This position will be evaluated by standards set by the Headmaster and appropriate area-level Headmaster. A regular visitation and reporting procedure has been established.
Travel
Rare travel is required for conferences or additional training.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The school is currently a multi-level facility, which requires this position to navigate flights of stairs regularly to meet responsibilities as it relates to the school.
Talking must be able to express ideas and speak clearly and orally in person or over the phone to parents, students and/or other employees.
Hearing the ability to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and to receive detailed information through oral communication.
Close visual acuity is required for viewing a computer monitor, preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and reading.
Standing, walking and sitting for extended periods of time, moving about on foot for lecturing and monitoring students in the classroom, as well as throughout the building.
Regularly sitting at the computer requiring dexterity of hands and fingers.
Occasional lifting of at least 25 pounds.
Environment is primarily indoors in a classroom environment.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in education/administration and/or equivalent required subject hours.
Must obtain/maintain ACSI administrator certification.
Preferred Education
Masters in Secondary Administration
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Education or Administration
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Experience in school administration
ACSI certification
