Job Title: Thrift Store CSM (Customer Service Representative)
Reports To: Thrift Store Superintendent
Job Status: Full Time, Regular – Non-Exempt
Minimum Onsite Hours: Tuesday – Saturday (8:30am – 5:30PM

Overview: As a growing 501 C3, Non-profit organization, CRCI is always looking for new talented individuals who can be an addition to its efforts. It is CRCI’s Managements desire that each person involved with the organization (paid or not paid) has a burden for the lost, the sick, and the suffering. It is also important that all staff recognizes that they represent CRCI and their actions will affect the community’s outlook upon it. Staff is a representation of the CRCI program, and it will be expected for them to conduct themselves in a manner that would always promote and elevate the image of CRCI to the community. Any behavior that promotes a negative image of the organization is unacceptable.
JOB SUMMARY: The Thrift Store CSR is responsible for assisting shoppers and contributors from our community by running a Christ based thrift store. A Cashier plays a key role in our mission store by providing a professional, friendly and helpful environment, excellent customer service and a quick and accurate check-out experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
- Balances cash drawer and receipts; documents discrepancies
- Greet shoppers intentionally and warmly
- Operate the register and credit card terminal with speed and accuracy
- Keep the front desk area neat, orderly, and professional
- Maintain an environment fitting our company culture and mission
- Follow store policies and procedures
- Creates and maintains store displays and shelves
- Complete projects on schedule
- Check and maintain all dressing rooms clear of merchandise and return merchandise to the appropriate area.
- Provides donation receipt to donors accurately as needed
- Demonstrates creative thinking and ability to make both independent and collaborative decisions; shows initiative and makes suggestions to improve the organization’s efficiency and productivity; demonstrates a positive attitude to changes, suggestions, and feedback.
- Demonstrates an understanding and commitment to the success of CRCI Thrift Store and its mission and is able to explain it accurately and with enthusiasm to customers.
- Financial Responsibility: Responsible for the cash register at all times. Must ensure that cash is accounted for at the beginning and end of the working shift. Must ensure that all transactions are reported and accounted for per store procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent preferred
- Previous skills operating a register and handling customer transactions preferred
- Demonstrated ability to resolve and address customer service issues in an expedient and efficient manner.
- Cash Register Skills Required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
