Job Details ChristianaCare's Medical Group is looking to hire a Full-Time Medical Assistant to support the Cardiac Surgery practice. The Medical Assistant is responsible for delivering and maintaining quality patient care and will also assist providers in the examination and treatment of patients with virtual and on-site appointments. The Medical Assistant will deliver quality patient care and to perform other clinical and clerical duties within the practice. Cross-trained clerical experience with check- ins and check-outs or scheduling, preferred. Delivering health, not just health care is our promise to our community. Work Schedule: Monday- Friday: 8am- 4:30pm. No weekend/ holidays expected. Key Responsibilities: Rooms patients for virtual and on-site within the practice to include taking and recording patient Vitals. Performs injections, medication administration and EKGs as per practice needs. Assist clinician with examinations/procedures. Prepares exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment. Completes necessary patient-specific paperwork as per practice needs. Ensures EMR is up-to-date with all pertinent test results in preparation for next visit including timely scanning of records to HIMS. Back up for surgical scheduling of all outpatient and inpatient cardiac surgery procedures. Ensures appropriate cardiac surgeon availability and cardiac OR block utilization. Maintains open line of communication on any potential case or office issues with full cardiac surgery team. Handles prior authorizations, referrals, and medical refills based on practice needs. deliver quality patient care and to perform other clinical and clerical duties within the practice.
