Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Lab Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the finishing and assembly of optical lenses and eyewear, ensuring precision and high-quality standards are met. This role requires proficiency in operating optical lab equipment, as well as knowledge of lens materials, measurements, and prescription specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lens Assembly: Mount lenses into optical frames, ensuring proper fitting and alignment, and verify that eyewear meets quality standards.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications and optical standards, including verifying the lens type, and frame.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate optical lab equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
  • Inventory Management: Keep track of lens materials, supplies, and frame stock, and notify management of inventory needs.
  • Customer Communication: Collaborate with opticians and other team members to ensure accurate orders and delivery timelines. Address customer queries related to their eyewear orders, if necessary.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of orders, production progress, and completed eyewear orders.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in optical technology or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience as an optical lab technician or in a similar position is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision instruments.
  • Knowledge of various lens types, materials, and coatings.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Good communication skills and customer service orientation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Dexterity to handle small components and perform detailed work.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to [weight, e.g., 30 lbs].
