ABOUT THE POSITION

Chrysalis is seeking to hire a Caregiver in the Salt Lake, Utah area. This position helps support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to become more independent, have fun, and build relationships. You will care for them at their own home, as well as participate in fun activities in the community. Our caregivers gain valuable experience in the human services field and will be given many opportunities to advance within the organization.

What is it like to be a caregiver for Chrysalis?

Here is what you might expect to do on a typical day:

• Teach an individual how to cook a meal
• Aid in budgeting and planning
• Model appropriate behaviors
• Attend fun activities such as going to the movies, bowling, car rides, zoo visits, sporting events, video games etc.
• Help the individuals stay physically active and exercise

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
• No prior experience working with individuals with disabilities is necessary to apply for this position. We train all of our caregivers to give meaningful support to the individuals we serve.
• Must be an approved personal or company driver. To be an approved driver you must:
  • For Personal driver approval (this means you would use your own vehicle for transportation of clients):
    • Must be at least 21 years old with no moving violations on driving record
  • To be a company approved driver (This means you would be approved to drive a company owned vehicle)
    • Must be at least 21 years or older with:
      • If 21 years old: No moving violations
      • If 22 years old or older: Up to 2 minor moving violations
  • A valid drivers license in the state of Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, or Wyoming. OR provide a current MVR from your state's Drivers License Division.

AVAILABLE SHIFTS

We are looking for an individual who can assist with our Supported Living Program. The following is the needs we have and the hours. Hours can be flexible to a degree. Could work multiple shifts to increase hours worked.

4pm-9pm but start and end time can be flexible to an extent
